Antoni Maiovvi - Stopping Power (ITALO MODERNI)

'Antoni Maiovvi is an artist like few others. “Knights of New Haven” summarises his unique ability and unparalleled range. This return to the Bordello reflects the influence of the West Coast Sound of the Netherlands as well as that machine music of his adopted home of the U.S. “Later Not Lately” bends bars above a throbbing kick, hi-hats ruffling the clean arcs of string. Echoes of Chicago and Detroit penetrate the EP. Melting melodies fold and oscillate under the crashing cymbals of “Slack Blabbath”, staggered synthlines jolted by tight percussion patterns. A brother-in-arms opens the flip, Danny Wolfers drafted in under his Legowelt moniker to turn his magic to “Later Not Lately”. Undulating undertones are sliced by serrated snares before a sordid TB303 is unsheathed, Wolfers’ soulful and squalid retelling of the original. “The Madness in the Method” closes. Fizzing static blurs drum patterns, a taut note piercing the dense bass fog. Teetering between the profound and the profane, Maiovvi pivots his horror disco trademark sound with driving house drums and devil-may-care grandeur. An EP of epic proportions.'

Broadcasting from Vienna to the Caribbean, Belly Dance Services unveils its 27th release – introducing Puerto Rico-based collective Panic Broadcast and their EP RAZA, a fusion of folkloric roots, cosmic rhythms, and Latin American electronic vanguardism. The EP features two original tracks plus two remixes, including one by label head Nick Hanzo.

Born out of the wake of Hurricane María in 2017, Panic Broadcast unites Raymond Gadget (Macroporno, Psiconautas), Jorge Martinez (Matotumba, SIMILAR), and Jorge Ramos (deep, Ha!) – pushing the boundaries of audiovisual experimental music in the Caribbean and beyond.

RAZA is an electronic rumba laced with Afro-Fusion textures – a cosmic celebration and homage to Jíbaro music legend Tavín “Hígado de Ganso” Pumarejo, amplified through collaboration with Oferenda.

URAYOÁN references the legendary Taíno Cacique who resisted colonization, delivering a tribal step rhythm rich with surreal tones – a hypnotic call for transformation and resistance.

The remixes expand the EP's sonic palette: Belly Dance Services mastermind Nick Hanzo delivers a breaky reinterpretation of RAZA, layering his own vocals, frog sounds and otherworldly melodies into a late-night floor burner.

Meanwhile, the Hypnotic Horns Remix of URAYOÁN bends the rumba-infused rhythm into a hypnotic journey, led by introspective horns and psychedelic undertones.

Screen composer Thomas Ross Fitzsimons makes a modular debut with The Planets Vol. 1 — a bold first step into experimental electronic music. An immersive debut of atmospheric soundscapes, pulsing rhythms and immersive, slow-burning textures that invites listeners to tune in, drift out, and orbit something greater.
Best known for his emotionally rich scores for film and television, the British-Australian composer now turns to tactile electronics, blending hands-on synthesis, astrological themes and cinematic instinct. Fitzsimons’ recent credits includeChannel4/Universal/NBC’s Everyone Else Burns and the Krakow Film Festival award-winning documentary The Cathedral. Now based in London, he shifts focus to modular synthesis, trading orchestral palettes for patch cables and voltage-controlled tones.
Originally a personal experiment, The Planets Vol. 1 evolved into a fully realised concept. Drawing on early 20th-century astrologer Alan Leo, whose planetary profiles famously guided Gustav Holst’s The Planets, Fitzsimons translates each celestial archetype into modular sound, shaping distinct emotional environments through texture and tone.

Mercury, a track built around Leo’s description of the planet as “the planet of adaptation.” Flickering textures and abrupt shifts create a fast-moving piece that captures Mercury’s instability and mental velocity through morphing tonal colours and unpredictable structure.
