Returning to the Ransom Note Records offshoot, Insult To Injury boss Timothy Clerkin presents four prime cuts of rave meatiness for our ravenous consumption. Showing off his chops, Timothy’s distinctive Acid sound collides head on with Jungle and Breakbeat elements, put through the mincer to form an EP of epic dance floor destroyers. 

Dreaming explodes out of the gate first, clattering in with a big, wobbly bass line before dropping into a rapturous rave anthem! Perfect for the late summer festivals. Tour de Trance takes the tempo down a notch, whilst revving up the Hands-In-The-Air-O-Meter! Big, analogue synths build throughout, sweeping us up and taking us to a place of pure ecstasy by the end.

Jangala continues this blissfulness, transporting us to a synthesized rainforest, where birds call and string sections play in perfect harmony. This paradise is fleeting though, as the carpet is ripped out from under our feet and we’re slapped around the face by a rave stab so aggressive, it probably has rabies. 

Broken Wing takes us to the close with eastern inspired melodies and drums interacting with an Acid bass and resonant synth stabs to generate a hypnotic state of being. As we approach enlightenment, the sounds build around us to transport us to a higher rave plain.

After releasing the banger “Keep It Strong” one year ago, Patricio Diaz is back with his very first release.

The eponym track “Nights Lights” is a pure track mixing Trance and Italo influences.
An ode to gathering and smiling on the dancefloor.

“Walking At Dawn”, always with a trance touch, a little faster, is the perfect track to let you go. By the way, the track groove seems straight out of a 80s road movie.
 
ROTCIV signs here a mental, dark, almost disturbing remix.
But faithful to its origins, he brings an undeniable disco side too.
A transcendental music for the robots !

To close the strong release, Theo Scuera brings to “Night Lights” a more progressive 90s touch. Music to be experienced only by tapping your feet loudly and jumping on the dancefloor.

A long player of new music from DMX Krew is always a welcome sight and sound, and Hypercolour continue to strengthen their association with the seasoned British producer, with his third album for the label, ‘Glad To Be Sad’.

A consistent player in the field of electronic music, DMX Krew has been releasing more goodies on labels like Super Rhythm Trax, Libertine, and his very own Breakin’ Records since 2017’s last Hypercolour album, ‘Strange Directions’.

Those familiar with the catalogue of DMX Krew (all 22 albums and countless singles and remixes) can expect the usual collection of first class electronic funk and modular melodies, but for the uninitiated, ‘Glad To Be Sad’ covers a wide and colourful palette of rhythm and sound, abundant on the bass and with a heavy dose of futurism in its waves of glorious synth-work and deadly drum machine rhythms.

DMX Krew - Jagged (forthcoming on Hypercolour)

Having debuted on RDV through the second Récit De Voyage compilation in March, Modern House Quintet make their full EP debut on Molly's imprint. A live electronic act who exclusively performs live, playing and improvising with hardware instruments only, their delicate, organic and involving sound is the basis for the label's fifth 12" release, backed by a remix from Hungary's Gnork & 130eOa.

The aptly-titled ‘Sunrise’ sets the deep, confident tone and sound that runs through the release, mixing wholesome, contemplative house chords with a warm, generous acid line emerging organically. On the flip, ‘Sunset’ dives further into this sound, diving back beneath the horizon.

Almost beatless, ‘Midnight’ produces more intense oscillations for a weightless trip that transcends mere machine manipulation. Gnork & 130eOa reinstall a subtle groove for their understated but irresistible remix contribution.
