The best rappers of all time topic is among the most controversial topics in hip hop. Who do you believe is the best rappers of all time? Who do you place in your top 10, top 5, top 3 and finally number 1? Place your opinion in the comment box below.

In order to be considered as the G.O.A.T. or the best rapper of all time, you FIRST have to be considered as one of the lyrically elite amongst your contemporaries. The throne reads "the best rapper of all time" which means you have to have exemplary lyrical ability amongst the ranks of professional rappers. Having a big following, or selling the most rappers does not make you the G.O.A.T. If it did Vanilla Ice would be in the top 10.

Once you qualify to walk up the next step by being an elite lyricist you have to consider longevity. How many generations of fans have you trancended. Dropping a few top albums for 1 or 2 generations does not make you the G.O.A.T. Everybody is the man amongst their own freshman class but where is your popularity and or relevance after you graduate college and enter the real world? Im talking 10, 15, 20 years later?

Once you take the next flow how is your lyrical ability. Do you still have your flow? Are you spitting just as good if not better when you first started 10, 15, 20 years ago? Many rappers fall off because they forget the reason why their famous in the first place. The Art of Rap/ Lyricism.

Let's take the next step. Who have you battled? Have you won all of your battles? If you took an L in any battles this disqualifies you from the G.O.A.T. If you are the G.O.A.T. Your battles should have been legendary triumphs.

What about record sales??? Record sales IS NOT AN ULTIMATE DETERMINING FACTOR. Why??? If we made a list of what rappers have sold the most records, those rappers would fail miserably in the other G.O.A.T. requirements. Record sales should count for something so I will say your career has to be plated with a number of platinum albums, but every album doesnt have to be.

These are just a few WELL ROUNDED topics to consider when considering who the G.O.A.T is. Just because a rapper is hot in your lifetime does not mean that he or she is the best rapper of all time.
