SPEED is back with another round of the Artist Invitation Mix series, featuring an incredible artist. We're excited to present a mix from https://soundcloud.com/wantonwitch  representing both Borneo Island and Berlin for this edition of the series.

Wanton Witch's music reflects the diverse and contrasting soundscapes of internet sub-cultures and communities, offering a new queer perspective on the world. Drawing from her lived experiences, she creates chaotic and brutally honest portraits through electrostatic landscapes and cubist dancefloor sensibilities. 

Her compositions, more sonic collages than songs, delve into real-time experiences and aim to foster empathy for the trans experience. This vulnerability and honesty make her music alarmingly accessible, subverting electronic music conventions to humanize the otherness. In 2021, her debut album was recognized as one of the best by Resident Advisor and Mixmag Japan. Since relocating to Berlin, she has enchanted audiences at renowned institutions and festivals like Berghain and CTM Festival. With a fervent desire to evolve as an artist, Wanton continues to surprise her audience with her unique sonic vision.

Wanton Witch was the guest for the inaugural episode of the HER transmission mix and has been a dear friend since the founding of HER & SPEED. She relocated from Borneo Island to Berlin in 2023 to pursue her musical dreams. While her artistry has gained increasing recognition, she now faces challenges due to limitations on job opportunities under her artist visa, making it difficult for her to sustain herself financially.
