Hosting and sharing the decks with many leading artists and rising talents such as Taimur, Omar, Chklte, Sweater, Delano Smith, Unai Trotti, Raphael Carrau, Gabbs, Kurilo and so on. JFO’s passion for music and sound shine through his carefully curated all vinyl sets and parties, not bound by genre, but by good music. It’s about the right track at the right moment—as they say.

After a very long mix hiatus and a pretty quiet summer, I had the idea to finally get back into it and put down something that expressed me as a DJ, music enthusiast and tell a story. With this in mind, I came up with the concept "From Dusk till Dawn". This is where I would start the mix somewhere in the beauty of a late summer early evening, slowly moving through tempo and intensity to capture how I envision the energy of dusk until the early hours of the morning to be. Where dawn breaks, and you are locked into to a seriousness which can only be brought about through a proper trip, built up with thought and intent.

This was recorded live at home with two turntables, a CDJ, rotary, some average speakers and a lot of sweat. It is very raw but Im hoping the rawness will be relatable and resonate with some. I definitely left a piece of myself in this one.

From Dusk till Dawn

Kendall Mangano steps up for episode 19 with an absolute blinder of a mix. A true stand out in the series so far, boasting flawless transitions and unique selections that ooze class and cool. Having checked out her recent set at YOON Fest for The Mudd Show we were determined to get Kendall involved in the series and she has not disappointed! Definite one to watch!

Another OG in our series, this time it’s fellow Dutchman Daan Donk! He has been an integral part of Amsterdam’s underground culture for years, not only as head of Likeminded and Tale of Bus (Garage), but especially as DJ. We first met him digging through record stores when hardly anyone was paying attention to old records, and since than he has dedicated his life to vinyl. Daan and his projects have definitely shaped the city’s sound; so hats off to him. We are happy to share a live recording from Daan from a moody Crevette Records night in Fuse (Brussels). So keep yourself grooving and give this boy a spin!

A couple of months ago, when we heard that we were going to get to mix our first Essential Mix, we had absolutely no idea what we were going to do. It's a very big deal for us to do this mix. We decided to use a lot of old records and tracks that we really liked when we first started playing together in our hometown in Poland. That's why, for example, we asked Jacek Sienkiewicz to send us 'Dream Machine' and also why we included Michael Mayer 'Speaker'.
There is a lot of old vinyl that we included especially for our Essential Mix. Harry Kane, T-RWKR, Arto Mwambe, Needs, Terry Brooks and one of our all time favourite records from Alex Cortex that we even edited specially. We really have to thank Axel Boman for introducing us to Bassroots 'Good Life' and Marcin Czubala because we discovered Sofrito Specials through him.
There is something from our label Pets Recordings, that our friend Nikola Baytala from San Francisco will put out at the end of May. It will be his first EP for many years and this track is probably one of the most trippy things we've ever released. That's why we love it so much! There are a lot of tracks in the mix that have their own story but, for now, we're gonna let the music speak for itself'. Catz 'n Dogz, April 2013.
