NOWHERE LIKE HOME TO STOP MENTAL CONFUSION

I was honored when https://soundcloud.com/graphicsontelevisions asked me to remake ‘Tattlesnakes’ from their fantastic album ‘Pun’. Maybe it’s the wildest one, unpredictable but coherent, it inspired me immediately !!

I've remixed to my taste their original studio stems (drums & keyboards), adding my own vocals, guitars & more... hard recommendation of headphones again !!

Lyrics are from another of my ancient poems, where I played with oxytone & eproparoxytone rhymes (translated below but with lost effect in English).

On The Stage

My earliest musical memories are of a small home on Williams Street, where my family moved when I was three. After dinner, my father would play hymns on his Conn organ, and I would sing along. That simple, shared ritual was my first introduction to music.

Our time at the organ came to an end a couple of years later when we moved, and my father's schedule became busier with teaching, pastoring, and graduate studies. I soon moved on to singing along to albums of musicals, and eventually, my mother became my first piano teacher. But I'll always remember that it was my father who first gave me a love for music. This piece is in his memory of him.

Sometimes I feel like a chicle. Like I taste really good at first, but after you chew me for more than like 4 minutes, you realize, “Damn, this kinda tastes like a rubber tire.” Best to spit that shit out.

Anyway, boohoo.

I hear guitars and shit for this track, but I don’t have time to put it into a real demo. I’ll make time later.

It’s okay being rubber. Makes me stretchy, bendy, and strong. I always bounce back. I make art instead of crying <3
