In hour 2 it's an interview with bassist/songwriter/vocalist Stephen Bruner, aka Thundercat. Will Ashon talks to him about his introduction to music, some of the tracks that have influenced him over the years and his new album 'Apocalypse' which is out now on Brainfeeder. Along with tracks from that album, we also hear music from Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, De La Soul, Chick Corea and Clams Casino.

Following that, DK returns for a brief selection of tracks from George Duke RIP. His career not only produced extensive solo work, but he has also played on countless albums by other artists over the years. We hear some of his tracks from the MPS label including 'For love (I come your friend)' as covered by Thundercat, plus his work alongside David Axelrod, Stanley Clarke and Billy Cobham with the track that was sampled by Souls of Mischief for '93 til infinity'.

Marc Mac delivers another dose of Deep-Soulful Techno under his guise of Nu Era.. The 4 track EP is backed with genre-fused science, analogue machines woven together by chords, melodies and beats we’ve come to expect from Nu Era, at times the string laden 4hero sound is synonymous throughout the four tracks and although synthetic still full of emotion. The Vinyl release is a lovely transparent red and an animated label design is a nice bonus, limited to 300 copies global.

NDATL continues with new hOT tracks from the label's creator Kai Alcé. While Mr Alcé has been remixing on the regular, his own output has been minimal so it's refreshing to hear new material from the man himself. Alcé offers up 4 dope tracks "Back In This Shit" the title track reminiscent of 90's with updated flavor "Not" with it's warm keys & driving drums, the Sheed's Move ft Rasheed Ali on flute is underground like only Mr Alcé can provide & "Jam Tight" is a Detroit flavored burner! This 12" has something for all the vinyl pushers out there!

Well, this is different… Fourth Kind the self titled mini album on Omniverse Records. It’s hard to pinpoint a genre with records like this; produced by Marc Mac of 4hero and similar to some of the 4hero output, it defies genre and fits somewhere in-between many. The production is heavily reliant on synthesisers and vintage drum machines in places but is full of real life and organic movements, this is partly down to the signature drums played by Luke Parkhouse. The only other guest spot is filled by Nu Jazz Funker Pascal Strauss aka Luman Child who plays bass guitar on “Take Me To Your Sky” which along with “Afterglows” are the closest we get to dance tracks, in most parts a 70s fusion feel is present. The short interlude type tracks are just as important and I would go as far as to say vital to telling the story.  Moogs, Arps and Solina strings weave patterns throughout, all in all, across the 10 tracks the album is a journey of mood and emotions.  Limited Edition 180g Pressing. Released 17th September 2018.
