Recovery Channel podcast 1: Cleymoore

Coco Maria is a dj that brings the sun along anywhere she plays. With her weekly show on Worldwide FM and recent compilation on Bongo Joe Records she selects uplifting, warm, groovy gems. For this show she selected the ultimate feelgood jazz and funk to cope with those grey Amsterdam days that lie ahead of us. Thank you Ana!

"I love bathing! Be it in the ocean, in a river or in a bath. The Scandinavian and Japanese bath cultures are fascinating. Well-being traditions for centuries! You need to take about one hour to take a bath. I highly recommend using salts. Epsom salt, baking soda, Dead Sea salt, magnesium crystals, make your own mix with 1/2 cup each. My favorite is also a German mix with gemstone powder called Meine Base. You can add some essential oils or dry flowers or herbs. I kill bad colds this way! You can start your bathing session with dry brushing your skin, then a shower, finish it cold if you can and then take a bath until the water gets cold. Put on some candles, have some water to sip and nice drifting music (this mix!) or a guided meditation." Stellar OM Source

This mix was made during the first lockdown period and initially played at Kiosk Radio in Brussels. I played it again on this show because it seemed right at the time (and I had to improvise). The mix comes with a clip of a google streetview route up north from Amsterdam through the fields, passing water and clear skies. Recovery Channel podcast 4: Lola

Nymfo is a prolific Drum & Bass producer residing in Amsterdam who I've known personally since 2003, when we both lived in Eindhoven and met at a terribly boring side job. Here are a few words about his contribution to Recovery Channel podcastserie: "During all the lockdowns and quarantine sessions I wrote a lot of different music. For fun, to learn or just for the experience. The music is very diverse : from classical piano tracks with Frank on the cello, to some more melodic atmospheres without any beats, to some breakbeats x house stuff. I played for almost an hour my own productions at Recovery Channel and you can listen back to my set now. It’s scary sometimes to get out of your comfort zone, but it’s also really fun! I am really curious if more producers try this."

Little inside note is that he's a very agile yoga practitioner but just as bendy in his musical ventures, connecting the two for this take on his ideal way for meditation and relaxing.

Elena Colombi is a great dj and selector, no doubt, and she has been making waves with her imprint Osàre! Editions. The label releases compilations, tapes and vinyl but also rave gear which the label boss co-designed with apparel brand Senscommon. She is a jack of many trades and for this guest appearance on the show she presented a downtempo quirky meditative bubble, massive tip.
