How High The Moon (Hayden & Chrissy)

Just wanted to share this Doobie Brothers tune with everyone on Twanger Central!!! It's one of their lesser known songs off of the album "Living On The Fault Line" called "You're Made That Way". Originally it had Micheal McDonald on vocals. Our version is a amalgam of the album version and a live version we found on YouTube. Ours features my wife Chrissy on vocals (fighting not to do her spot on Micheal McDonald impersonation) and keyboards. One of Skunk Baxter's funnest guitar parts (which I only manage to approximate).

The concept album focused on an individual who means to do good using political power. He finds himself tempted to abuse the power, as have all of those who have come before, and ultimately becomes what he fought against.

Wanted to write and record something for just guitar, bass and drums. I recorded the guitar track as a single take. You can hear my ham-fisted pickup changes throughout..I can only hope it helps make it sound like a live performance. I also recorded Telepath using my live rig. I hope you enjoy it!
