Ich kann nicht schlafen!
Tausend Fragen schwirren mir im Kopf herum.
Wo endet die Unendlichkeit?
Woher kommen wir?
Wer bin ich?

Wenn ich glücklich bin, kommt es mir so vor,
als wenn ich leuchte. 
Wenn ich traurig bin, habe ich ein Gefühl
als wär´ ich voller Wasser. Und das Wasser steigt und steigt.

Ist eigentlich mein ganzes Leben von Anfang an vorbestimmt?
Oder muss ich mich wirklich allein zurechtfinden?
Werde ich immer die richtigen Entscheidungen treffen?
Und wie weiß ich, ob es die richtigen sind?

Und wenn das ganze Leben nur ein Traum ist?
Und alle Träume Wirklichkeit?

In der Nacht fühle ich mich allein
und schutzlos.
Ich habe Angst, dass man mich plötzlich verlässt,
Ich habe Angst vor Krieg.
Ich habe Angst.

Werde ich wissen, wenn es soweit ist,
dass ich sterben muss?
Tut Sterben weh?
Und wenn nach dem Tod gar nichts mehr ist, was dann?

Und wenn man ewig lebt?
Dann könnte man alle Wunder verstehen,
Wunder der Erde,
des Universums!

It Ain't Cold, It's Refreshing (Big Band)

The soundtrack for the documentary "Im Rhythmus Der Zeit" about time and time perception.

For this soundtrack I created infinitely accelerating and decelerating risset rhythms, programmed and recorded an acoustic self-playing piano, wrote a program that generates rhythmical patterns by shifting the tempo of every instrument by a few milliseconds, worked with a 130 year old audio recording and tried other ways of messing with your perception of time.

The challenge was to write a palindrome in 48 hours, which means the track sounds the same played in reverse.

I played and recorded tongue drum, electric bass, two snare drums, shakers, a metal water bottle, doors, my keychain, a wooden table and a curtain.
