The Night Lights is a two-piece electronica/indie duo from Asheville North Carolina.  The band consists of Kie Cochran and Danny Peck (who also produces electronic music under the alias "dep"). The Night Lights produce melodic, electronically rooted songs crafted to excite the mind and awaken the soul. Together, some of their influences include Ulrich Schnauss, Hammock, Explosions in the Sky, The Album Leaf, Brian Eno, M83, and Sigur Ros.

Kie and Danny came together in March of 2011 and, after experiencing what they called "instant flow" during their first jam session, immediately began producing their first EP.  The songs are generally a combination of Danny's sequenced beats, keys, vocals, and manipulations of other analog gadgetry, in equal parts with Kie's sweeping fx-driven guitar, electric bass, and airy vocals. Kie also regularly offers up his own musical ideas that the two build upon together, sculpting in to a finished product.  The sounds range from beat-driven, epic electronic ballads to ideas that are more ambient, reflective, and atmospheric.  Two parts of a whole, Danny and Kie build and evolve their songs over time until they feel "finished."
