«VEDAN KOLOD» est le seul groupe en Russie jouant de la World music fondée sur la culture musicale de la Russie Médiévale. Le répertoire du groupe se compose de chansons populaires russes (y compris des colons sibériens), ainsi que de chansons d’auteur qui reprennent des textes russes très anciens. La musique instrumentale et les traditions vocales s’entremelent étroitement. Souvent des compositions instrumentales sont accompagnées de guimbarde ou de chant de gorge.

La plupart des instruments sont fabriqués par le maître Valéry Naryshkin lui-même. Certains sont des exemplaires uniques, comme le cor slave militaire, le cor scythien, la cornemuse russe, la jaleïka (instrument à vent populaire russe), le sifflet, la lyre sur roue etc.

«VEDAN KOLOD» tourne beaucoup en Russie (plus de 800 concerts par an) et a déjà participé à des festivals internationaux en Allemagne, en Macédoine, en Serbie, en République Tchèque, en Ukraine, en Hongrie, en Pays Bas, en Slovakie, en Pologne, en Autriche, en France, en Malaisie etc.
Depuis sa création le groupe a sorti 6 albums ansi que 3 recueils internationaux de folk musique.


The group "VEDAN KOLOD" was formed 10 years ago in Siberia in the city of Krasnoyarsk.

"VEDAN KOLOD" is the only group in Russia playing World Music based on the musical culture of Medieval Russia. The group's repertoire consists of Russian popular songs (including Siberian settlers), as well as author songs that reproduce very old Russian texts. Instrumental music and vocal traditions intermingle closely. Often instrumental compositions are accompanied by Jew's harp or throat singing.

Most of the instruments are made by the master Valery Naryshkin himself. Some are unique examples, such as the Slavic military horn, the Scythian horn, the Russian bagpipe, the jaleïka (Russian folk wind instrument), the whistle, the wheeled lyre etc.

"VEDAN KOLOD" tours a lot in Russia (more than 800 concerts a year) and has already participated in international festivals in Germany, Macedonia, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovakia, in Poland, Austria, France, Malaysia etc.
Since its creation, the group has released 6 albums and 3 international collections of folk music.
