A new beat pulsed summer of 2013 giving birth to a unique sound that is more passionate than angry, more assertive than brash, and distinctive rather than muddled. Fueled by a determination to make it off the streets of the number five murder capitol in the world Baltimore City, a group set to change the tone of hip-hop was formed 5 Milli. 5 Milli is composed of two very real, relatable, highly entertaining, yet normal and down-to-earth young men, Kocaine Reddz and Vo Milli.



As former Ceo of  Bossup Records, Kocaine Reddz was on a constant grind to find the next big superstar out of Baltimore and help independent artist secure funding for their project. “Our city don’t have very many people who help artist get to the next level from a mentoring perspective, so I always try to help up-and-coming artist” says Reddz. On his quest to find next superstar out of the city younger brother, VO Milli  who already doing music in the area began picking up notoriety  creating a unique sound that caught the ear of older brother Kocaine Reddz. So in the summer of 2013 they put there heads together and became one brand 5 Milli ensuring the safety of the new sound being created, and making brothers one entity approaching the music industry.   



Vo Milli has a long history of rapping starting at an early age of 11 in middle school. The battle rap scene was very big when he was younger but instead of Vo Milli joining in on battle rapping, which he calls rap” he started writing songs about real life situations that take place in his community. “I just couldn’t imagine battle rapping and disrespecting someone lyrically for nothing when I was younger you barely know your opponent so most of there raps were built off ego and not spirit i make music from my soul, and I had family and friends getting killed over petty beef, it just didn’t make sense to me” says Vo Milli. After traveling to Atlanta in 2009 and being in a industry environment Vo Milli started taking music extremely seriously and has developed a very unique sound.in late 2012 released his debut mixtape on datpiff titled "Wayne Gretzky" named after legendary hockey player. As mixtape began picking up notoriety in the area older brother Kocaine Reddz began taking notice in his younger brothers talent and unique sound began to mentor younger brother and formed 5 Milli making them one entity and set out on new quest on creating a cult following. With the ability to master each genre of music Vo Milli has a distinct way of staying true to his sound while still staying true to his hip hop basis displaying the ability that many artist lack the ability to crossover, and create music that not only moves the urban hip hop crowd but also capture the attention of diverse crowds.Vo Milli and 5 milli have recently teamed up with super producers Lace and Kidd productions to work on an album for 2016. “The sound is easy to work with and very distinctive and natural” says producers lace n kidd.
