A Soul Transplant

 .Artist Vivian Caccuri releases “A Soul Transplant” a vinyl sound edition produced by 55 SP in partnership with Galeria Leme / AD. 

Vinyl features songs composed during her residency at Studio Acusticum in the town of Piteå, where the artist worked with Scandinavia's largest organ, in partnership with Slovenian-Italian pianist Sven Lidén. The residence was supported by Resurscentrum för Konst and the composition was transformed into an installation presented at the Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg.

 The hallucinations, visions and chills of yellow fever and malaria described in historical documents or personal statements are the main sources of images and sensations for the work. The trail evolves following the structure of a dream delirium, interrupted by mosquito noises at specific times.  

 Also, the artist has adapted numerous historical melodies from northeastern “pifano” bands to the organ. The "pifano" is a wind instrument that has evolved from three cultural matrices - European, Amerindian and West African. Pipe bands appear during the height of sugar plantations (17th century) and during the time of the first yellow fever epidemics. Ernani Braga's 1932 play O'Kinimbá was also incorporated into the composition, adapted to the organ.

The 55SP has as principle to diffuse the contemporary art, fomenting the new art collector and the relation of the buyer with art and with the artistic production.
