Prince Freddie (born Jin Wilson; 5 September 1991) grew up in the East African Protectorate of New Mombasa with his mother, Kasumi Goto and Slade Wilson. He  and his family eventually fled from New Mombasa for safety reasons due to the Covenant Invasion. 

The family moved into a small house in New Hampshire, England. Wilson enrolled at Bullworth Acadamy, where he began taking music lessons. He had many musical influences including Nujabes, Madlib and J Dilla.  It was also at Bullworth where he began to call himself "Prince."

Following graduation, Prince began making music of his own. At about the same time, he changed his surname, Wilson, to Freddie.

 Freddie left England "damn near homeless, walking the streets, sleeping on benches." and settled in  New Zealand.

Freddie continued making music at his home in Christchurch. He meanwhile had taken on a new identity, Dark Seid, after super-villain Darkseid. Freddie had used the name for some song releases, but thereafter changed this to Shyj.
