 एक (1)  शक्ति (Shakti; śakti f.) = "Ability, fortune; strength, skill; power, energy; cosmic energy; goddess",  the acting force of a god/ deity (espacially Shiva as Kali/ Parvati).
In spiritual or yogic context, Shakti personificates cosmic energy, that is our divine mother and for some devotees, the most important female deity called "Lakshmi, Saraswati, Durga, or Kali" etc.
In dualistic Shiva-Shakti philosophy (found in Shaivism and Shaktism) this divine female energy, which includes the whole cosmos and everything in it, is identified as Shakti and so the first part of this dualistic concept. She is which fuels the second, male part, Shiva, the supreme consciousness. Shakti also means that the whole universe is a manifestation of the same divine shakti energy, what makes everything existing divine and "holy", but there is only this one specific cosmic energy, which indeed has many names, forms and manifestations. Without her power the cosmic consiousness could not exist. ॐ Shakti om. 💗💗💗🌷

When Śiva becomes Naṭarāja (sanskrit: 'Lord of Dance') he initiates the essential and never-ending cycle of destructing the cosmos by his ecstatic moves, so that new creation of all can take place again. While in psychedelic trance he dances away the illusory world of (maya) transforming it into pure consciousness and enlightenment, escaping samsara - repeating death and rebirth - finally achieving highly desirable moksha in state of samadh: the ecstatic or unitive - true state - of freedom,

काली (Kali, kālī: “the black one“) supports us to turn the mind inward in deep meditation, dissolving our body sense, dissolving our thoughts, liberating emotions into energy, and drawing all our energies into their source, the deepest inner. Her great dissolve carries us into the recognition that all things are one in the Self.

Her dark appearance stands for the ultimate void state, where as differences dissolve into the absolute beyond all form. Her sword is the force that slices delusion, ignorance, false hope, and lies. Her position on top of Śiva reveals: she is the dynamic force in the universe, the power that churns the stillness of the void, so worlds can be created inside that transcendent nothingness.

Called our mother, being the magnetic draw of ultimate oneness, the call of the Self to let go of everything that would separate us from what we always already are.
Whether Kali seems terrifying, fascinating, or loving depends on our state of consciousness. But she always invites us to a radical, often deep dark form of ego-transcendence.

According to tantra, all power comes from an essentially feminine inner source. The masculine in its purest, most essential form is the source of consciousness, of awareness. So when the masculine wants power, it must draw it from the feminine, just as when the feminine wants to be conscious, to reflect, she must draw that capacity from her inner masculine source.
