A kinetic and engrossing triptych - Erotic Fan Fiction’s debut release on Eastern Nurseries sees the London-based composer build on his distinctive combination of experimental electronics and immersive storytelling. Following on a series of digital synecdoches via EFF’s own imprint, Steep Incline, “Memory Banks” continues Matt Soczywko’s sharp cinematic approach to world-building.

Rippling with terse flittering synth progressions, explosive sound design and a veiled sense of angst, “Memory Banks” delivers a fast-paced succession of flashing, fragmented images. All the while EFF's harsh textured storylines blend in a subdued sensibility, awash with lush pads and bass swells; delicate arpeggios playing the uneasiest of melodies – a magnesium flashed snapshot of our own tumultuous modern life as seen from the driver's seat.

Accompanied with a music video for “Fireworks”, directed by Henry Lockyer and Matt Soczywko himself, “Memory Banks” imparts a singular vision of city life, a document of its inherent contradictions and the beauty that lies therein.

'Imagine golden hayfields rushing by, sunset chromatics gracing the eye, romantic old town walks, existential talks, squirrels in the pines, small flowers in pavement cracks, the gaze of a silver moon and silhouettes of rooftop cats.'

Luke Cohlen is the next guest for this edition of Radio. Although he’s a big Lynch fan as well he decided to do a completely different kind of movie for his show; Richard Linklaters 1995 romantic drama Before Sunrise. Balancing on the edge of being philosophical and cliché, but a dream like state of consciousness enables to explore new territories throughout the story. Now it’s up to Luke to see which paths he’ll take.
