Podcast 139 - Aiver x Brutal Forms

The Parisian Techno scene has a vast number of players, but none growing exponentially like DJ & producer Nymed. 

Growing up in the seaside town of Dunkirk in Northern France, the artist’s proximity to the Belgian border fueled his love affair for electronic music. He began his own party series, "Conceptual Violence," in bunkers on the Flemish Coast after becoming properly acquainted with the Belgian and Dutch club realms across the border. 

The concept was simple - to reappropriate & transform a former historical warzone into a place of celebration, joy, & love. What initially began as a party series evolved into a podcast, showcasing a wide selection of Techno artists from all over the world. 

Prior to the 2020 pandemic, Nymed relocated to Paris and began producing music and honing in on his DJ craft. Now, he is known as a pillar of the scene. He launched a new event concept, Toyz, in 2021 as a move to revitalize and fill a growing demand for safe party spaces for other like minded, sexually liberated queer ravers.

Nymed’s sound is characterized by a love for old school 90’s techno, with a no frills approach to mixing that sets him apart from his FX laden contemporaries. This revivalist sound has made him an in-demand artist locally at iconic French queer events like Spectrum & Myst, but it also allowed him to play on the international scene in clubs such as Berghain (Berlin) or Paragon Broadway (New York). 

Fluctuating between hypnotic and sensual, his music production work channels his DJing philosophy while incorporating trippy melodies and sexually charged rhythms. 

A chance meeting with fellow artist and label manager False Witness led to a friendship where a mutual respect for each other's creative visions were forged, leading up to Nymed’s debut EP, ‘Vassau’ on E-Missions Recordings in April 2023.

First of all lover of New Wave and alternative rock/metal, the Parisian DJ, Minor Player, fell in love with Techno and its universe, in 2013, during a night in the famous danish club, Culture Box. Then, due to her musical influences, Minor Player developed an appetence for Industrial EBM and its artists, as Ancient Methods, Mind/Matter, Sarin, Reka or XTR Human.

Practicing Djing since summer 2022 and resident of the collective Atrium, Minor Player wants to carry her public into the post-industrial era of the 1980s with each of her mix, whose cold and metallic sounds, but still catchy are an appeal to freedom.

Minor Player on Line Out Radio - C’est en 2013 que la DJ parisienne Minor Player est tombée amoureuse de la techno et de son univers, après une soirée passée dans le célèbre club danois Culture Box. Depuis lors, elle n’a cessé d’accroître ses connaissances en matière de musique techno. C’est donc en tant que véritable passionnée du courant New Wave et de ses sous-genres que Minor Player a rapidement développé une appétence pour l’EBM et ses artistes, tels que Mind / Matter, XTR Human, OTHR, Sarin ou Reka. Minor Player entend transporter son public dans l’ère post-industrielle des années 80 dont les sonorités froides et métalliques, mais incroyablement entraînantes nous transportent dans une ode au lâcher-prise à chacun de ses sets.
