In this mix, I wanted to think in the same way as I would in front of an audience. Start with an ambient intro and build in power and tension throughout the set. I have a huge problem with monotony, which also explains why the end of my set was more "groovy", I'd say. I don't make predefined playlists, I make them according to how I feel, the story I want to tell people and what I want them to understand.

Ponky is a DJ, producer, and co-founder of the Dissonance Collective, shaping a sound deeply influenced by funk and hip hop. With a strong focus on percussion, he blends synthetic rhythms with 90s house and rap acapellas, crafting dynamic and engaging sets. His mixes move fluidly between hardgroove, hypnotic textures, and break beats, creating an immersive experience that keeps listeners locked in.

For this mix, he approached it as he would a live set, starting with an ambient intro before building power and tension throughout. Always seeking to avoid monotony, he shifts towards a groovier energy towards the end. Rather than relying on predefined playlists, he selects tracks based on instinct, storytelling, and the emotions he wants to share with his audience.
