TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ SUBRADEON

Subradeon: the Neapolitan New School.
Subradeon is a musical mission started more than fifteen years ago in southern Italy, well known as a territory rich in artistic and musical vanguards, with the intention to continue and be an active part of that message born in  Detroit’s streets in the middle 80’s: “live the music” as a universal message, as the most important thing, as a  cultural movement.
One thing is clear, from the first listen one can appreciate their innovative ability, their creativity in mixing different styles, honouring the pure techno sound with the soul of Motown combined  with elements that range from hip hop to jazz, from funk to soul.
2018 is the year of Subradeon Records. “God Bless” EP was the first release that opened the doors to the electronic music scene. From there followed a series of releases on several labels such as Hardgroove, Rekids, Sous Music, Character and three new EPs on Subradeon records. 
“Trying to accurately convert the human experience into sound”.

6AM Guest Mix: Subradeon

Handmade's DJing is perfectly tuned to the Globus wavelength. An integral part of the Tresor resident team since 2009, he developed his own blend of timeless dance styles on the rocky Berlin terrain.

However, this was not developed entirely in the German capital, on the Spree river, but also by another large body of water: Lake Michigan. Spending time in the birthplace of house music was enough to get lost in one of the richest dance music narratives of the planet, making his way through entire record collections. The combination of abundant sexiness and spiritual depth, etched into the vinyl of Trax, Dance Mania and Cajual, seemed to parallel a core basic human instinct about the experience of fun. In these records from the American midwest he found pure hedonism cast into black plastic. 

In terms of club experience however, the Berlin night scene remained second to none and with ravenous hunger he returned to his homeland. Ever since Handmade has channeled this drive into what has become his explosive trademark DJ style: deep and dubby-grounded à la Detroit, with the jacking stabs of Chicago influences and occasional deviations into tougher or more soulful soundscapes. This stylistic set-up allows him to adjust perfectly according to each night’s context, if necessary breaking it wide open: two indispensable qualities of a resident DJ.

Edinburgh born and bred, Stephen Brown has been channelling the spirit of the Motor City since the 90’s and the Terminal V favourite demonstrates it every time he steps behind a set of decks. It is no secret that Brown’s connection to Detroit Techno goes back nearly as far as the genre itself and with releases on a string of influential and seminal labels that include Djax Up Beats, Soma, Skudge and Derrick May’s Transmat.

With many more production credits to his name it is no surprise to learn that he counts Ben Sims, Laurent Garnier, Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin amongst his most verdant supporters. Stephen’s uncompromising yet soulful style has lead him around the world and he can be regularly found captivating crowds at the most discerning clubs alongside Terminal V events...
