Працюючи на початку війни фіксером у Харкові Дмитро Іванов зіграв короткий твір на фортепіано у одній зі знищених шкіл. Цей момент попав на плівку, а твір був використаний саундтреком до репортажу, що спонукало музиканта до того, щоб охочіше ділитися своєю творчістю з людьми. На радіо Ґазолін Дмитро представить свої останні переживання у вигляді імпровізації.

Working as a fixer in Kharkiv at the beginning of the war, Dmytro Ivanov played a short piece on the piano in one of the destroyed schools. This moment was caught on tape, and the piece was used as a soundtrack for a report, which encouraged the musician to be more willing to share his creativity with people. Dmytro will present his latest experiences in the form of improvisation on the Gasoline Radio.

The track is called Podil, after the district in Kyiv where people gather together the most. It has quite an energetic rhythm section, but really slow and viscous melodies. Zillion of layers of sounds and samples. It reminds me of walking by late-night Podil on Friday night on your own. When you see some random people finishing their celebrations, walking out of bars into the malleable fog. But otherwise, the streets are empty, the town is all yours and all you want to do with it – is to observe.
