1990 seems like such a long time ago now...

Can't remember the exact kit list for this track, but the main synth sound is a gate-sync'd Jupiter 4 (which later got stolen) and the drums were off a DR550.

At the time I was heavily influenced by Derrek May and 808 State, I think you can hear elements of both in this song, as well as my love for jazzy latin piano riffs...

"This is the demo version of the song Storm featuring Edan and Mr. Lif. 
In the 11th hour of making The Audience's Listening, I swapped the music out from this funky break beat to a psychedelic post punk drum machine.  At the time I was looking to reinvent myself and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to do so.  I couldn't be happier with how the final product turned out.  It's fun to go back and listen to what Edan and Lif actually recorded their verses to. This is more of a "classic" Cut Chemist production that one might recognize from the late 90s/early 2000s." -Cut Chemist

Mick Henderson has been playing and producing music in and for bands since 1982.
Originally classically trained in percussion and brass, went on to master keyboards and bass, teaching and supporting Music Technology courses at Newcastle College from 1989-2000.
Flint &amp; Steel was born in 1994 from the ashes of the Sunderland technofunk band "e" (88-92) and breakbeat/Rave duo (91-93) "Atomik" - going on to remix and produce many local acts and more well known artists - producing bootlegs of The Charlatans, Radiohead and Public Enemy, Dizzee Rascal.

Currently working on new material and remixing with three vehicles - Flint &amp; Steel (Dancehall, Acid, Hip Hop, Electro, Drum &amp; Bass), 70MPH (Minimal Techno) and Starlings (Latin/Folk/Glitch/Pop Duo).
Whenever possible you can catch an eclectic DJ mix under the Flint &amp; Steel banner in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and is available for bookings.
