At the tender age of 10, Corry Hartzell of Jamestown, NY dreamed of joining the hip hop ranks. Inspired by his brother Chris Hartzell and his friend local rapper “J-Dot”, Corry, at the time known as “Core Master Flex,” began to indulge in the art, that is, rap. He recorded his first freestyle rap at Stonehouse Studios and has been grinding ever since. However, his rap career came to a brief halt when he got into legal trouble and was sentenced to community service and participation in the “Scared Straight” program. It was through the mentoring of an inmate who saw his potential to rap after hearing him freestyle, that Corry would earn his new stage name, “C-Banga”. Corry would go on to perfect his craft, noting “Big L” as his lyrical inspiration and tutor. Anxious to demonstrate his new found skills, Corry freestyled for a complete stranger on the side of the road who recommended he enter a rap competition that would occur later that day. 15 year old Corry didn’t hesitate. He hopped in the car and headed to Corning, NY to finally put his rap skills to the test. Although he didn’t win, Corry gained valuable experience and was able to network with a few business people who respected his charisma, his ability to motivate a crowd, and most importantly, his guts; as he was the only Caucasian to compete. Later on, “C-Banga” became one half of the rap duo, “New Frontier” along with friend and local rapper “Bama”. However, the duo was short-lived, as they would later join up with “Blunton Edwards” and “Johnny Ray” to become the “730 Boys”. The “730 Boys” went on to achieve much local and regional success, but after 4 years as a group, decided to pursue solo careers. Now, as a solo artist, “C-Banga” is focused and driven like never before. With his unique lyricism, charismatic stage presence, and versatility, “C-Banga” is ready to take the rap world by force. C-Banga released his very first ever all original album "SOTM" which is now available for pruchase on iTunes.
