Alexia Coley returns to Jalapeno with Beautiful Waste Of Time, co-written with former Rotten Hill bandmates Gary McPherson and Andre Shapps. Their previous band Big Audio was led by Mick Jones from The Clash and in early live incarnations Alexia found herself singing the song with Mick on guitar. The song was never committed to record. So with Gary and Andre's support, Alexia re-recorded the single with her current band and with producer Dr. Rubberfunk on mixing duties made it her own.

On the flip, label mate Smoove puts the drums to the front for a dancefloor friendly remix that will be sure to tear up the clubs and festivals all summer long

Beautiful Waste Of Time

With this record, The Como Mamas join forces with the boys of Menahan Street Band (billed pseudonymously here as The Radiant Rhythm Band) to lay bare the funkier side of gospel music. 

“The rhythms we all play were already right there in their vocals,” explains drummer Homer Steinweiss, “so it felt natural to lay down the grooves behind them.” Thomas “T-N-T” Brenneck, the up-and-coming producer who brought us both Menahan Street Band and Charles Bradley, presided over the collaboration, which took place in the old Dunham Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
