Raging streets

The whole time I wrote this, I had Mickey, Castle of Illusion images running through my head. That and, well a mix of the ballroom scene of Van Helsing the movie. The melody came from a tune I made up whilst brewing a tea and humming to myself so i wrote it down and went from there. Again, used the baldwin Discoverer (great for anything chip tune-ish) and an analog 16 track recorder. 

Waltz for Halloween

I don't usually do covers, but I was asked on Twitter if I would do one and submit to OC Remix. This tune is from the Bonus Level in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I hold no copyright nor did I originally compose any part of this tune. Composed on korg microstation, with funkbox app for the rhythm, recorded on 16 track recorder. No Loops used in the Melody, all played in by yours truly :)

Rockin' around the Tokie Tree

This tune is a piece written for FED clothing who supply me with amazing gaming tees!

My inspiration came about thinking of the over worlds and dungeons of LOZ: The Adventures of Link. It sort of built on itself with different sounds inspiring riffs along the way. I'd like to build upon this as a track for my upcoming album. Really happy with this tune. Hope you enjoy!

This intro/theme is for a client Dr. Retro. This particular tune is for their youtube channel 
I wanted to keep in theme with the hospital/doctor vibe they already had both visually and musically so I created some sounds such as the heart beat and pulse monitor. Also wanted an upbeat tempo with mechanical sounds and chips :)

Dr Retro channel Theme

4 Months well into writing themes for other people and I realise that 8 Bit Synthtown doesn't in fact have a theme of it's own! This tune is from the amazing RPG and my favourite game of all time, Landstalker!

First rough recording with a clean version on it's way, here is the 8 Bit Synthtown theme.

My remixed version of the Map music in Landstalker (favourite game on the SEGA!)
It's quite short and I'd like to do a full version of it with the epic horn section! I find the tune really soothing and easy to listen to.

Landstalker Map remix

8 Bit Synthtown is all about the Synths! New, old, Modded, circuit bent, vintage... I love them all!! My music is heavily gaming inspired, from all genres and a variety of consoles, particularly the NES. All created by myself and recorded here in Perth Western Australia at Synthtown Studios.

Amongst other projects, i am currently working on original themes for gaming sites and podcasts as well as sound design for an indie game.
