I’m Juani, an Argentinian based in London, combining sounds under the name 808g. 

My debut single glOw was filmed in Gibellina (Sicily), an open-air museum of contemporary art.

Juan was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of nine, he began teaching himself guitar, bass, keyboards and drums, eventually joining local bands and performing around the country.

After studying sound engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Lanús, he worked as a live sound engineer while producing music in his home studio. Alongside this, he trained as a luthier and guitar technician, building and repairing stringed instruments with his father, using his family name, Diaco, as a craft-based identity.

In 2014, Juan moved to London to deepen his connection with music and develop his skills. His commitment led him to work in guitar repair workshops across the city, including Camden Town and Denmark Street. During this time, he repaired instruments for artists such as Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Michael Kiwanuka, Mumford & Sons, Louis Elliot (Grace Jones), and King Krule, and later taught Bastille traditional rhythms from his home country.

Alongside this work, Juan continued playing in various bands, busking on the streets of London, and working as a guitar technician at Abbey Road Studios on live recording sessions. It was during this period that mastering engineer Wharton encouraged him to focus more fully on writing and releasing his own music.

This marked the beginning of a new chapter, centred on combining sounds under the name 808g.
