Rhythmic Astral Psychology (RAP) is a project conceptualizing the Hip-Hop music that we grew up on, from childhood to adulthood in our generation and in the country we grew up. Hip-Hop has been an influential source of drive or energy in our daily activities; to say the least, Music is the art or heart of this life that drives man through his/her dreams, or an alleviating factor of pain with in the heart or feeling. The Hip-Hop sounds that drive this whole project are most of the ‘real’ Hip-Hop tracks that dropped from 87 to the current vibes of the ‘real’ Hip-Hip music that still bare the elements. The concept of volume one of the tape is more about the guy experimenting with this elements of the Hip-Hop genre he grew up on as well as giving praises and accolades where it’s due. The pictorial concept of the whole idea is the same guy seated behind a whole console of musical production equipments in a supposed space ship heading out of the earth into the galaxy. This tape is made up of five tacks of one making it odd. The first track being ‘Gods Made’ featuring Daney King Eli with beat produced by Griotzmusic is a track we conceptualized from the God Mc Rakim Allah being ‘I got Soul’. Listening to the track, some lyrical elements might make you aware of it. The second one is ‘From the heart’ featuring Dela B with beat produced by Griotzmusic has some elements picked from a classic producer such as 9th Wonder. In this track, the fusion is more of a Hip (Hip-Hop) to Hi (Hi-Life) fused Hip-Hop being the drums and the instruments. The third track ‘Word to Mother’ and produced by Griotzmusic is one track that was inspired by Nasir Jones ‘Nas is Like’. Ranging from the beat to the lyrical elements, you might find some similarities with in.
Fourth track is ‘Learning Hip-Hop’ which features Geoy Cofie and 86 with beat production by Griotzmusic, also is an inspiration taken from our legend Nasir Jones ‘New York State of Mind’ being the instrumental source but ours had a flip to it. Listening to it will make you get the gist of it. The fifth track being ‘Southside’ is one that features the Monster Music Click being Klu and Abladzo Kwame who now goes by Veve and beat production by Griotzmusic. This particular one here is one that was inspired by Mobb Deep ‘Hell on Earth’. The drums side of the beat was picked from their progression but had a flip to it through the instruments but again listening to it will give you the vibe they brought.
