PHILIPP GONZALES - Fiasco

Originally released in 1993 Love Stimulation stands among the most influential works by Humate, the Hamburg-based project. This release gathers all official versions and remixes, including the celebrated Paul van Dyk “Love Mix”, co-produced with Frerichs, a version that became a defining club moment of the decade and reached #18 in the UK Singles Chart in 1999.

Through the mid 90s, Humate enhanced the sound of Superstition Records with forward looking releases like 3.1, The Sound, Choose Life and Vivid. Love Stimulation marks the peak of that creative run, a track that continues to appear in “all time classic” lists and still moves dancefloors over 30 years later.

This one first appeared on Flying Circus, a short-lived Superstition offshoot from back in the day. Now it returns home under the Superstition Records banner.

Premiere: Ki Creighton - Nightshift

On September 2nd Techno mainstays Pig&Dan are set to release a special EP entitled ‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’ via their own imprint, ELEVATE, which will soon celebrate its milestone 50th release.

This exclusive remix package features four stunning reworks of ‘Growler’ and ‘The Saint (Job San)’, the lead tracks taken from the duo’s acclaimed fourth album, ‘Modular Baptism’ which was released earlier this year. 

‘Modular Baptism’ was a record that further solidified Pig&Dan’s status as one of the most exciting Techno acts in the business, with the album claiming the #1 spot on Beatport and singles such as ‘Growler’ reaching the top spot in Beatport’s Techno chart and #2 overall.

Kicking off proceedings are two alluring reinterpretation of the duo’s aforementioned banger ‘Growler’. The first comes from Spanish DJ/producer Alberto Ruiz, who fuses the original’s deep resounding synth-riff with warped industrial sounding effects, and the second from rising London-based Brazilian-born talent Vinicius Honorio, who ventures down an even darker route with fierce distorted synths crashing against the more melodic moments of the track to great effect.

Following on are two excellent re-rubs of ‘The Saint (Job San)’. The first comes from revered NY based DJ/producer Boris, who turns the melodic masterpiece into a sharp, dark Techno roller featuring a relentless array of synth stabs. The second remix comes from French-born Geneva-based underground king Lee Van Dowski, who provides a euphoric sounding framework by bringing the original’s piano chords to the front of the mix and introducing squelching synths towards the end of the 8-minute number to further fuel the climatic finish.

‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’ is available exclusively via Beatport on September 2nd and everywhere else two weeks later.

The next Yoshitoshi Classic is here and it’s an iconic one - Dino Lenny’s “I Feel Stereo.”  Anyone on the scene in 2001, when this monster tune was originally released, remembers its pulsing rhythms and ear-catching vocal hook.  Seventeen years later, “I Feel Stereo” is back with three remixes from some of the finest artists around.

First up, Steve Lawler (working here as Lawler) has crafted a badass, bassline-driven house track that pummels with all the energy of the original.  Steve continues his reign as as key innovator in dance music, modernizing this classic with unquestionable finesse.

The Red Axes boys deliver their left-field brand of house with a variety of distorted arpeggio riffs, futuristic chimes, and other left-field sounds that make their remix truly unique.  It’s another ace production from the Israeli duo.

Last but certainly not least, up-and-comer Frankyeffe, who delivered the goods on his collaborative Splitting Minds EP with Loco & Jam last fall, serves up some impeccably produced techno for big rooms.  The Italian young gun’s mix is absolute savagery.  

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Yoshi Classic pack without a remastered original mix.  We hope you enjoy this excellent remix pack.
