chiptunes & 8-bit bitpop

This is a remix of the song "Fly To Paradise" by composer Eric Whitacre for the Virtual Choir 4 project.  I only used the stems he provided, my guitar, and a Nintendo Gameboy running LSDJ for everything you hear.   

Whitacre's style of using diatonic dissonance to create tension has been incredibly influential to my own work over the years.  It was kind of interesting to be able to pour some of that influence back into a reimagining of one of his songs.  

I wasn't sure how a choir and gameboy chip sounds would mix together, but as the song progressed I really felt the magic.  It was also a total mindfuck to take a renowned composers work, and have the gall to change the chords and notes around to my liking.  Oh well, just another challenge right?  

Hope you guys like this one, I think it turned out pretty special.

My take on that classic prodigy vocal, written many moons ago

I Don't Need You

For this track I went back to my C64/Amiga roots. Yes, that's where it all started for me too. Working with Fasttracker or Protracker, having 4 lanes in which you could program samples. One song from the demoscene stood out for me, and it's this one by Norwegian, Jogeir Liljedahl. His song Guitar Slinger made such a profound impact on me and has such a human/acoustic feel, it still is one of, if not, the best 'modfiles' that's out there, period!

I attempted to remake it, keeping true to it's legacy yet adding a little bit of my own here and there. I hope you will all appreciate this remake? Greetings to all from the Commodore 64/Amiga demoscene... You know who you are!

The moonlight- unfinished

After all this time I finally made something new! ... but i guess that is the pattern anyway isn't it

I was trying to make synths i liked with Serum and... i just can't seem to get the right sound with it, no matter what i do. it sounds too clean. it's horrible actually xD i switched back to synth1 and busted this thing out in a couple days. i guess i just like the grunginess of synth1 a bit better.....
