'Thought my legacy would lay dormant forever? Guess again...I'm dedicating this latest NES-formatted composition to all die-hard Sega fans the world over!  It's from a 'semi-underrated' run-&-gun conceived by Treasure (whose staff is comprised of former Konami employees, no less)...heard not only in the Ancient Ruins area in which your main troop fights to rescue the natives and thwart the dastardly efforts of Pink and her cohorts, but also in various parts of Black's Base (in the form of a board-game setup).  It's no wonder this game's well-known (brief anecdote - I remember playing this briefly on Sega Channel years ago)....anyways, enjoy!

This latest cover is inspired by the charisma and likes of an acoustic political singer/songwriter with roots tracing back to Seattle (who's been doing her thing NOT ONLY in the New England indie scene, but elsewhere...not to mention she's got a new partner joining the fray).  Ever since hearing her at the Monkey Palace (in JP), I've been dying to throw this out for the longest time, and lo and behold - most of you already know.  With that, enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Another day, another Treasure tribute in NES Format!  Let's play charades - I'm a dismembered puppet hell-bent on saving my theatre-stage-inspired town from the clutches of King Dark Demon...and I can only attack by using my noggin, not to mention the star of an overlooked platformer from ages past!

By now, the provided title above should be nothing more than a 'dead giveaway'...this is from one of the later stages as the big DH alters its background inbetween while confronting all sorts of odd sh__ on his merry way!  Also, you'll have to excuse the awkward rhythmic sequence at about 0:39-0:55 (considering I had to make it as close to the original Genesis version as possible).

As we're all aware of by now - it's been over a month since the death of ol' "Ziggy Stardust / Major Tom / Starman / Goblin King Jareth"...and considering how I'm a month overdue for what I'm presenting to you all this week, what better time than today to pay the best possible tribute?

Inspired by not only his legacy alone, but that of the combined efforts of Lucas & the late Henson - why not recreate its opening theme in the usual, tried-and-true NES format right?  Speaking of which, there was a Japan-only Famicom adaptation of Labyrinth by Tokuma, Atlus & Activision - which for the record, DID NOT include this song AT ALL.

It's from the 2nd stage of the sequel to one of the hardest arcade games ever made (which, unlike its predecessor, was later ported to the Sega Genesis - as a launch title, I should add; and the Japan-only Supergrafx/PC Engine), in which Arthur's exploring through the above-mentioned title area - inhabited by rock turtles, scorpions, fire-bats & finally Cerberus!

Here's one for all the '70s fans out there (if there are any, that is - whether you were born or alive during and/or before said decade...or HELL, WAY AFTER)!

From the "Soundtrack King's" 3rd solo album following his disbandment from L&M (Loggins & Messina), despite this ditty being intended as a love song...midway through its development/production, following his recent hospital visits to see his sick dad (the late Robert George Loggins), Kenny's viewpoint underwent a dramatic, life-changing transformation, as did this song - hence "it's not a love song. It's a life song."

Considering it's the start of yet another new year, and that I haven't been updating my channel lately... IT'S ABOUT TIME I MADE A MUCH-DESERVED COMEBACK.  Case in point: here's yet another classic many recognize from almost 50 years ago - despite some of us not being around then!

First featured on "The Partridge Family" in the 'Feminist' episode, it was since then covered and sampled throughout the ages by various other acts - most notably Perry Como, Kaci Battaglia, Katie Cassidy, Paul Westerberg, Constantine Maroulis, the cast In Search of the Partridge Family, and even Less Than Jake (featured in SCREAM 2 - which was how I was curious about this song in the first place, for the record).

Now hear it like you've never heard it before...IN ALL ITS INCOMPARABLE NINTENDO GLORY!!

The Partridge Family's "I Think I Love You" (8-Bit Cover)

Man, am I back at it again with another complete, yet random, 2-in-1 song medley!  What is it made up of, you might ask?

First:  Originally written & crafted by one of the most presitigous British rock bands of all-time and inspired by Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata", it was later covered by various artists ever since its initial release (most notably by Elliott Smith, heard at the end of Sam Mendes' "American Beauty").

Second: A murder ballad perfected by a late-'80s heavy metal band off of their first-ever, self-titled album; revolving around a high-school kid named Ricky who had just received a life imprisonment sentence with a minimum of exactly the same age as he is for offing another teenager, hence the title.
