Remember my first attempt last year (https://soundcloud.com/8bitky-2k13/kiss-detroit-rock-city-8-bit)?  I've brought the best and most-badass out of the space-age hard rock quartet [whose legacy has now spanned 40 straight years] in NES form yet again, improved beyond belief!  

Also, I'd like to dedicate this to another hardcore KISS fan whose B-day's coming up in 2 days!

Finally back in action after another unexpected hiatus - with yet another insane NES-inspired cover!  This time, it's of the opening theme from an underrated yet somehow nostalgic winter comedy film, released close to 25 years ago - created/produced by the same chap who brought us the Police Academy films (namely, Maslansky)!

Time and time again, I've heard countless variations of this classic-as-f**k theme - the original SNES, the Sharp X68000, Bloodlines (Genesis), Chronicles (PS1)....I could go on all damn day!

Why not compose my own variation of it?  Dedicated to all horror fans and Castlevania fans, especially....EVERYWHERE!!

Although I'm not big on soul whatsoever (except for Brockton/Somerville's 'The Cultured')...and although it's been who-knows-how-many-months since I provided any ounce of musical greatness, I figured why not shoot off another one my way?!  Although this started off in the late '60s, my personal favorite version is, was, and always will be the '80s Wilde version all the way [DEAL WITH IT - no offense]!  Enjoy!!

As part of yet another in the series of my post-hiatus comebacks, I'm dedicating this number to all SHINOBI fans everywhere - this was heard during the boss fight for Stage 3, in which Musashi takes on an enormous, deformed bio-monstrosity known as 'Hydra', whose only means of offense include not only its arm, but also portions of his skin and an impenetrable beam of light!  Every time you inflicted damage, he would change color dramatically and bury/arise every once in a while...enjoy, folks!!

Shinobi 3 - Return of the Ninja Master / Super Shinobi 2, "My Dear D - Boss #3, Hydra" (8-Bit Cover)

This is for all the CAPCOM fans the world over...by now, this ditty should at least jog your memory a smidgen or 2!  It's from the 2nd stage of the sequel to one of the hardest arcade games ever made (which, unlike its predecessor, was later ported to the Sega Genesis - as a launch title, I should add; and the Japan-only Supergrafx/PC Engine), in which Arthur's exploring through the above-mentioned title area - inhabited by rock turtles, scorpions, fire-bats & finally Cerberus!

Ghouls 'n Ghosts - Stage 2, The Village of Decay & Destruction (8-Bit Cover)

Ever since hearing the VGO's version of this song at their Capcom Live performance with Nakama and his associates, I've felt compelled to reconstruct and bust out my own tribute to the flagship third-party developer/publisher's fantasy-themed RPG series (not that I've played much of it, mind you...)!  This is heard in the credits, at the end of at least one of its installments (despite this particular cover being inspired by a few guitar renditions).

Monster Hunter - "Proof of a Hero" (8-Bit Cover)

Inspired by a hit from long-standing Canadian folk/alternative-rock group (not to mention Weird Al's parody "Headline News"), this originates from the former-indicated group's 2nd album "God Shuffled His Feet" as its lead single.

Inspired by yet another well-known hit hailing from their 2nd album "RIOT", released a decade ago - not only was this song certified PLATINUM almost 2 years ago, it was also featured as a playable track in EA & Harmonix's 'Rock Band 2.'  As always, hear it like you've never heard it before - IN ALL ITS INCOMPARABLE NINTENDO SPLENDOR!

If the tagline doesn't ring a bell after over 21 years, then maybe the following premise will - a Chicago cop vows vengeance on a Cajun crime lord after his partner gets brutally stabbed by the latter, thus fleeing to New Orleans, LA...and the mistress of the main antagonist eventually falls for the former.  

'Bet you wish the movie and its opening theme by which this cover's inspired had its own NES game adaptation, eh?

Hailing from this legendary 4-piece emo/punk rock band's 6th studio album, 'Sing the Sorrow', from over a decade and a half - this is also featured as a playable track in Harmonix's Rock Band 2 & Guitar Hero 5 / Live, as well as in the ill-fated Tapulous' Tap Tap Revenge.  Now - as ever - hear it like you've never heard it before...MINUS ALL THAT FAKE-ASS "GXSCC" CRAP!!

I've decided to whip up my usual, long-awaited NES tribute to their legacy as it was set in stone more than 4 decades ago - in their first-ever, self-titled album no less!  And don't think I've never heard it before, because I have...(I'm looking at YOU, Circuit City)

Considering it's been more than half a decade since my previous attempt at recreating a familiar Hughes film soundtrack in NES sound format (hence this link - http://soundcloud.com/8bitkymkiii_apsychalypse/sixteencandles-alt-opening-8bit), why not switch gears with a different song from Sixteen Candles?  It's heard when Farmer Ted and Caroline - Jake's better half (portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall & Haviland Morris, respectively) - were out driving, causing all sorts of unexpected hijinx - ending with a random photo reel. Three letters to sum up my latest, long-awaited tribute... O M G (right?!)

Anyways, here's one for all the couples and all Dirty Dancing fans nationwide!  By now, this hit should ring a bell or two, as it was heard NOT ONLY near the end of the film during Castle & Houseman's final dance before every other Kellerman's attendee joined in the bash - but also the short-lived '88 TV series and every other form of media associated with the film.  

And then, just a few months back - it hit me as always...what if Dirty Dancing had an NES adaptation?  CONSIDER THIS RELEASE YOUR ANSWER!

Basically, just like the aforementioned previous sound bank - this one's packed with WAY more NES-inspired [8-Bit] covers of various indie and mainstream [no infringement/pirating intended] rock/ska/folk songs, as well as non-NES arranged tunes!  Also, as with the previous sound bank, my duration's running very short, so be on the lookout for the last one!
