DJ, owner/operator of the touring  agency Morning After, and founder of the Enchanted Garden Party brand. This week we are pleased to collaborate with one of the best Melbourne has to offer, Cookie. 

With a music career spanning for quite some time he has accomplished want things. Most notably he has been privileged to play some of the best events the world has to offer. These include Africa Burn, Rainbow Serpent Festival and Chi Wow Wah Town. 

Through his touring agency he has also toured some of the biggest acts in the Progressive/Melodic house scene. An  impressive list that has members such as  Nick Warren, Quivver, CiD Inc, Sahar Z, Dousk and Einmusik.

A busy man with a keen ear for good sound.. Enjoy

Hisham Zahran - Year Mix [2019]

Ah, 2019. What a year it's been. I don't know about y'all but mine has been quite insane... especially this summer.

One of my highlights was playing a small festival out in the middle of the woods / on a lake front for one of my best friend's birthday parties. He threw a little festival for himself and asked me to close the whole night out. 3am to 6am. woof. Not to mention the fact that it was the day after I landed in Seattle from Germany. double Woof. I was so delirious, tired, all the feels you'd expect.

I played a mix of downtempo, with a dash of hip hop throwbacks and instrumentals I had, because most of the crowd was dying out so I wanted to experiment. A select group of friends stayed up the entire time, and when I finally gave the decks a rest, one friend told me "dude, that was the most gangster set I've ever heard....it was tribal, it was earthy and spiritual, but it had like, a thuggish attitude about it..."

I smiled and laughed, but it stuck with me for the rest of summer and into fall. Jungle spiritual beats with a thug attitude about it... interesting... Thus...this mix, was born!

I've been working on this mix for a few months, so apologies for the tardiness. I wanted to really nail the story, the setting. I envisioned a concrete jungle perhaps... a throwback gangster jungle ride... hehe. There hasn't been a LOST mix out in a while. I went through so many takes, so many mistakes, bad mixes, but this one was a journey. I honestly could have recorded another hour or so, I have so many sick edits I wanted to include but I figured it's already waaaay too long haha!

Hope you enjoy, I truly love every track I picked in this, hope you take the time to listen to it all! See y'all in 2020, lot's of Samaha music coming atcha! You know how we dooo it.

Mila Stern plays music like a vole swinging a glow stick. Gently but firmly she pushes us forward. Little kicks in the back side towards happiness get us dancing on our toes until we want to cry out: “Whaaat?!”
Mila was musically raised in youth centres & squats, ripened in Tel Aviv to finally graduate to the best clubs that Germany offers. She prefers a course around 123,4 bpm, sliding through with some shorter and occasionally with longer transitions. Preferably well-rested. But even crumpled, she has surprised us with utter superiority!

Slow Nomaden is the new side project of Tobias Kroschel, the head behind Sound Nomaden to express his passion for deeper sounds and influences from around the globe. In his DJ Sets and productions he takes the listener on an electronic journey through sounds of different cultures and spheres.

Already his first EP „Jungle“ released on 3000Grad Records in late 2017 got huge support from within the global tastemaker scene including Nico Stojan, Damian Lazarus, Riva Starr, Igor Marijuan just to name a few. In 2018 Slow Nomaden released his next EP called „Gondwana“ on his own label Nu Boheme Recordings. Gondwana was received even better and has reached more than 450.000 plays on spotify to date and was playlisted by several international radio stations and DJ’s. His next EP’s called „Elephant Dream“ and „Vasudeva“ both entered the Beatport Top100 Releases in their Genre Afro House and Electronica/Downtempo. Meanwhile „Vasudeva“ has already more than 600.000 plays on spotify. In 2019 Slow Nomaden released his well received debut album „Journey“. Coming aboard for the eighth edition of Juicebox Radio is Hyderabad (India) based Midnight Traffic. His tryst with music started like any other - as a listener & fan.
