Human, dreamer and melody lover.

Grammik’s (aka Aris Grammenos) involvement with electronic music started almost two decades ago. At 18 years old, Aris began spinning vinyl at local bars and clubs around his native Athens. His first release came out under his real name on No Border Recordings (2008) with numerous followup tracks on Sound Of Everything and Proton Limited.

In 2016 his first EP was released, under his current artist name “Grammik”, on Eyes Of The Owl Recordings with the title “New Tomorrow” , followed up by a remix on the same label. 

Grammik’s breakthrough came in 2020 when he joined the well-respected Steyoyoke Records family. “White Heart”, “Kalopsia”, “Vast Space”, and “Abroad” - his recent collaborative release together with Montreal’s Monarke – have all added to the techno-oriented, yet dreamy and melodic Steyoyoke sound.

He is well known for his built up dj sets that can begin from electronica and finish up to techno.

Grammik: I’m inspired by “everything that can make my mind dream and my heart sing"

Hello and welcome once again to the Depth Perception Sessions. Home of the beats that matter!

This week we welcome Steyoyoke resident artist MPathy to take care of episode #67.

Bio:

Berlin based DJ/Producer, MPathy, developed a strong interest for electronic music at a very young age. Growing up in the city of Berlin he was highly influenced by the electronic music scene in the 90’s. He later spent a couple of years in Chicago and also in Shanghai where he got involved with the local electronic music scenes, which ultimately shaped his outlook on electronic music today. With Techno music and DJing being his greatest passion for a long time, he started to work on his own productions in 2008. Since then he has produced Techno, Tech-House and Minimal music for various record labels.
After finishing his audio engineering studies in 2012 he joined the Berlin based Ethereal Techno label Steyoyoke. MPathy is responsible for the first and most successful Steyoyoke release in collaboration with Antonio Olivieri, ‘If I Were Music’. He played gigs all over Europe, Brazil and Africa and shared the decks with Oxia, Coeus, BLANCAh, Rauschhaus and Ran Salman, just to name a few.
MPathy is eager to push off in his own direction to continue to both challenge and provoke existing concepts of making unique and forward thinking music.

Wow, Toronto. You really know how to make a girl feel special! The show on Saturday, February 4th was one for the books at Coda Toronto. The energy in the room was insane!!! … and the love you showed lifted me up to new heights and was received with gratitude. Miss Monique played a massive set and I knew I’d really have to keep the energy up to retain the crowd to the wee hours of the morning. It’s one of my favourite sets to date, combining my usual deep melodic baselines with some more progressive elements. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed spinning it!

Carlos Aguirre from Quito, Ecuador located in the middle of the world , V-CIOUS project was formed in 2012 . with its roots in house and minimal bring new sounds with a meaning and innovative to people with good taste, has accomplished much in a short time and shared with Sasha (Lat Night On Earth), Robert Babicz(Kompakt), Butane (My Little Helpers) Robert James (Hot Creations), Audiofly (Supernature), Sandeman (Crosstown Rebels ), James Teej (Last Night On Earth), Robbie Akbal (Akbal Records), Supernova (Lapsus Music) among others. At the end of 2014 Carlos Aguirre creates his own record label to give opportunity to national and international artists called Sleepless Records, this has already been positioned as one of the best and most promising brands among Ecuadorian labels. His works have been supported by great artists such as Richie Hawtin, Magit Cacoon, DJ Tennis , Laurent Garnier, Marco Carola, Dj Diass, Marco Resmann, Jean Claude Ades and more. In August (2015) V-Cious was the winner of the first remix contest by Upon You Records at Beatport Play , with his interpretation of the original track of Magit Cacoon - Freedom Is Timeless. chosen from more than 250 remixes. Having the honor of being part of One of the most recognized labels Upon You Records from Germany . Now focused on production, he has collaborated with artists such as Mikalogic (Suara-Noir Music), Dj Diass (303 Lovers-Incorrect) and THe WHite SHadow (FR) (Katermuke-Einmusika) .2017 release his first Vinyl release for Record label Resopal Schallware and constantly works with big labels as Parquet Recordings, Manual Music and Movement . � Stay Tuned
