In the heart of winter, we revisit Mitch Oliver’s first solo EP on the label, Exil. The Montrealer is growing into a pillar of XYZ’s output, while also turning heads on the international scene through his powerful productions. We’ve enlisted a top-tier roster of remixers to take the reins on the original material, and these three maestros have absolutely nailed it! Raw Main, Maxi Degrassi, and Facundo Mohrr come together to present Exil (The Remixes).

Raw Main is one of the most forward-thinking producers in our global community of musicians. With projects everflowing on the likes of Abracadabra, Saisons, and Bar25, he’s got a distinct knack for balancing the foreign and familiar. The Frenchman has flipped Intrepid on its head, enlisting a heady acid-laced groove drenched in psychedelia. A touch of vocal bliss alongside organic riffs counter the synthetic foundation, placing this instant classic in a world of its own.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Maxi Degrassi on remix duty, as he steps into the driver’s seat on Wildfire. The Argentinian aficionado peruses through punchy percussion and haunting hooks, keeping the groove-centric vibe alive from start to finish. Lush builds add flavor at every turn, ensuring this dancefloor burner catches the ear of the globe’s finest selectors; a tantalizing tool!

Harnessing inspiration from a rejuvenating weekend of shows in NYC, Facundo Mohrr captures a perfect Sunday flow with his remix of Exil. Playful synths snap into focus on top of punchy kicks, as the vocal performance from Tea Verdene receives a trippy twist. Facundo produces yet another unpredictable groover that has become the signature of his sound, balancing immense dancefloor effect with bespoke melodic character.

For the fourteenth reference, Xarma Music features founder and habitual Adrian Alegria. His new release "Funky Train" is a demonstration of the musical evolution of the northerner over the years. An exquisite sound in which the combination of organic and synthetic elements create a perfect balance for the single.
The release stands out for the characteristic vocals mixed with the artist's usual keyboard sounds. This time the percussion has a more minimalist perspective, giving more prominence to the melodic part. It is remarkable the intervention of Iñigo Iragui in the recording of the transverse flute that provides an essential and distinctive role for the melodic part of the song. 

XM014 will be released next June on all platforms.

Continuing to expand the Endangered roster with a crew of fresh upcoming artists, Brian Cid welcomes Mirida to the label with a 3-track EP of deep & emotive melodic techno.  
Brought up by Russia’s 90’s techno scene, Mirida has become one of the main drivers of Saint Petersburg techno and tech house in a career that’s spanned 20 years. He’s released original productions on labels like SOSO, Take Away and Seven Villas, and collaborated with artists Aquarius Heaven and Lazarusman. 
The EP begins with “Roger”, a track with gentle percussive elements and distorted vocal samples that create a sense of tension and anticipation of what’s to come. Dark & brooding synth accents establish right away that Mirida’s style fits in nicely with the sound of Endangered. 
“The concept of Aborigen was born while I’ve been traveling,” says Mirida. “Each track is a projection of what was happening around me. The main idea includes never stopping cars, motorbikes, long road traffic, planes in the sky and the story of exploring wild jungles.” The tribal drums and chanting vocals of the title track lock you in a trance, and truly bring you into Mirida’s state of mind of his creative concept for the release. 
The hypnosis continues into the EP’s finale “Firebird”, which is the most driving track of the package. Drifting pads fade in and out of the background, and allow the listener to really settle in and vibe along with the groove of the drums. 
Deep, melodic techno at its finest, and a stand out debut for Mirida on Endangered.

Robbie Akbal takes us to Mexico with his divine 2 tracker, ‘Chacahua’. The title track pulls at the deep strings as it guides us slowly into the brush. The heat rises. We’re deep into the spiritual journey when the groove hits us, taking control of our bodies and minds together as one. Robbie lets up to lead us to the plants of the gods, or ‘Plantas de los Dioses’; the second track on our plate. Warm and dreamy, the track softens its grip to give a smoother, more chilled ride from here on out. Make no mistake though, we’re not through yet, Robbie has a few more tricks up his sleeve before the nights over.
