A familiar name within the underground house fraternity, Rafal Ligienza has been at the vanguard of his country's music scene through his Rafa'EL moniker. Operating out of his Wysoka home in north central Poland, Rafa'EL has been developing his innovative sound for nearly 15 years.

Making his debut on Usessions Records in 2013, the Polish star has subsequently been a regular on Particles, centred around a pair of original EPs in 2015's "Twin Flames" and 2019's "Floating Moments". Remixes for Rauschhaus, Mariner + Domingo and Juan Deminicis have shone a light on another side of Rafa'EL's production talent as he now returns with "Light the Shades". The title track flows with deliciously rolling groove and clicking percussive top line as a melancholic piano progression adds gravitas. Evolving with ease, a sultry synth line makes its intermittent presence felt, while a stripped back breakdown provides the perfect vehicle for melodic elements and spoken vocal sample to shine before a twinkling arpeggio opens up a moment of magic in the second half. "Overload" immediately hits hard with its strong beat and chunky rhythm, while a deep bassline and muted synth stabs play in syncopated fashion. Arpeggio and growling analogue synth add to the sonic collage as a symphony of melodic components converge in counterpoint heaven, culminating in a gated reverse sequence that heralds a drop for rhythm and groove to showcase dancefloor prowess in the latter stages.

Finding a home on Proton Music with such memorable outings as 2019's "Organik" and "Sunsweat" EPs, Imran Khan has also created a strong sonic identity on Particles with 2018's "Arrival", plus a clutch of remixes for the likes of Kamilo Sanclemente, Savvas and Chihaka, in February 2022. Returning to Particles, the Imran Khan remix brings a trademark depth to his reworking of "Light the Shadows". Enveloped in powerful rhythmic heft, a growling bassline and breathy effects pave the way for elements from the original to forge a new path, away from the melancholy of Rafa'EL's work, creating a tension-filled offering that revels in white-noise effects and hypnotic groove. Allowing the emotive keys and pads from "Light the Shadows" to shine during the breakdown, Imran Khan brings them sharply into focus alongside his deep groove-oriented and dynamically rhythmic offering.

An artist with over a century of production credits to his name, dating back to a 2018 debut for 3xA Music, Jorge Viana has continued to make a name for himself with music signed to the likes of Mango Alley, Freegrant Music and Dopamine White. From Rosario in the Sante Fe province, Jorge Viana continues to impress during a relatively short career thus far. Now the Argentinean artist makes his debut with an intricate rhythmic backdrop that captures listener interest through imaginative use of the central melodic found in "Overload". Creating a new central motif, familiar elements wax and wane with throughout the complex percussive backdrop. A powerful effects-fuelled breakdown opens up a new direction before melodic fragments filter into range in a glitched and dramatic zenith.

Opening 2022’s third quarter, Clubsonica Records welcomes Analog Jungs back to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Argentina and comprised of Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte, Analog Jungs first emerged in 2015 and quickly earned the praise of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. The duo’s colourful, club friendly sound has found a home on some of the genre’s trendsetting imprints, such as Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers and The Soundgarden. Clubsonica has also been a landing spot for Analog Jungs in the past, with the duo remixing ‘Wild Side’ by fellow countryman Julian Nates in March of 2020. Now, on the strength of an EP for GMJ and Matter’s Meanwhile, the Cordoba duo return to Clubsonica with ‘Arun | Tadasana’, alongside remixes from Sean & Dee and Ejaz Ahamed.

Beginning with the panoramic synth textures and powerful drive of ‘Arun’, Analog Jungs flex their free-thinking muscles with a creation equally at home on a peak time dance floor or floating above a festival skyline. An unexpected shade is revealed through horn-like stabs, as celestial sonics forge a path into the main break. Wavy arps rise and shapeshift across the interlude, bringing a tasteful balance of tension and emotion as the groove drops for a thrilling conclusion. Meanwhile, the companion piece ‘Tadasana’ is an apt barometer of where Analog Jung’s headspace is at, as the duo lets poignant melodies blanket buoyant beats and a forest of striking percussion. The duo’s instinctive ability to tip a dance floor over the edge is reaffirmed with emotive chord changes and balmy atmospherics carrying into the main break. Looking to bring even greater emotional depth, the centerpiece delights with its cinematic sense of space, eventually giving way to percolating melodies and a suitably charged finale.

Univack's label boss, Integral Bread @integralbread , returns with the single 'Ready To Born', a Deep Progressive House piece that shows the peculiar style of this artist, music with a lot of melodic and percussive elements, that make an oneiric journey that can be danced in equal parts between body and mind.

The release is completed with a stunning remix by greek artist Simos Tagias @simos-tagia , who manages to create a diferent version with several elements from the original track, perfectly selected and processed , showing his most atmospherical and ethereum side of Progressive House.

A new label to enter the underground house milieu, Pillbox has a set of 24-carat gold credentials from which to cast its net over the global club scene. Owned and curated by Proton progenitor, Sam Packer, the label's first release sees a track from German and Lebanese talents. Remixes come from Australia and Germany.

An artist with a rich electronic music history, Chris Zippel has been immersed in the world of house since the age of 15. Splitting his time between Berlin and Ibiza, the German artist has taken centre stage with work alongside the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams and Paul Van Dyk. With music signed to Ubersee Music, Allisum Records and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile Horizons, Zippel continues to grow in stature. A rising star, renowned for her status as a leading Qanun player, Ghenwa Nemnom has combined her love of the traditional Middle Eastern instrument with an ability to use its unique sound in the world of dance music and the organic house sound found on such leading imprints as Café De Anatolia, Alt Orient and Melody of the Soul. Now joining forces for the first time, "To Follow" is an extraordinary track that drifts enticingly with gently rolling beat and deep 16th note sub bassline. In tandem, the beautifully plucked sound of Nemnom's Quanun reveals itself in a virtuoso performance. A whispering vocal phrase emerges at the mid-point before ambient effects and subtly placed arpeggio combine in the second half to spine-tingling and immaculately crafted effect.

Gavin Griffin needs no introduction to those familiar with the progressive house sound of the past 5 years. A leading light in the underground fraternity with his performance behind the decks and near 500 production credits for the like of Anjunadeep, Balance Music and Proton Music, the Australian artist continues to push boundaries, defining the modern progressive sound. Reworking "To Follow", the GMJ remix is dripping in trademark silky smooth melodies and rolling rhythmic underpinning. Building imperceptibly, a vocal sample from Zippel and Nemnom's original creates a melodic peg from which to hang a glorious analogue synth motif. The cadenced phrase shimmers across the stereo spectrum as layer of pads and counterpoint motifs create an uplifting sonic experience. Using the fundamental harmonic themes from "To Follow", the track builds post-breakdown into a glorious sonic collage that showcases GMJ's technique and talent to the full.

Presenting their fifteenth offering, Ruben Karapetyan's RKP welcomes Aman Anand and Rockka to the label for their first ever collaborations. Indian born, Singapore based artist Aman Anand has had much success across his twelve-year career. With a cutting-edge style, Aman has become beloved within the progressive music spectrum, recording standout projects for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Sudbeat and WARPP, while also earning play and support from the genre's elite guard in Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Meanwhile, hailing from Sri Lanka, Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. Making his mark through a series of Droid9 releases featuring deep and atmospheric grooves, Rockka demonstrated his mastery, paving the way for a notable ascent in his early career. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident impressed going forward, quickly landing projects with Juicebox Music, iNU, Mango Alley and Yomo Records. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Aman and Rockka add RKP to their respective resumes with a two-track showcase entitled 'Imperfect Cell'. 

The EP's title selection 'Imperfect Cell'' sets the pace and lands with many of the duo's beloved production hallmarks. Tight kick drums and neatly manicured percussion provide a DJ friendly intro, as rhythmic pulses set the course for the bassline to deliver a rush of free-flowing energy. Cruising effortlessly across the first act, it's an amalgamation of sweeping sonics, psychedelic effects and wonky synth mutations which add further depth and character, a vibe which is sure to cast a prophetic mood over the dance floor. The duo's elusive vision shines during the main break, as they deliver a sense of tension and emotion that astute fans will appreciate, before pyrotechnic effects spark a strong synth driven finale. 

Rounding out the release are the groovy qualities of 'Locked In', a track where Aman and Rockka aim squarely at a peak hour dancefloor once again. Marrying the classic and contemporary sounds of the genre, the duo crafts an aesthetic that is trippy, rhythmic and effortlessly cool, one that balances a loud-soft dynamic perfectly. Holographic effects flash through a whirlwind of rebounding rhythms and psychedelic monochromes across a smooth first movement, as tension continues to rise during the interlude, before roboticized vocal loops and reverent pads melt down into highly explosive beats and heavy basslines for a thunderous finale.
