London-based DJ and producer Anii is welcomed to the AEON fold with her mystical ​​Magic EP. She invites the indomitable forces of Man Power and Kiwi to each provide their own take on her original productions.
Speaking of the EP ​Anii ​​explains that she had ​“been working on it for the last couple of years. It’s a project I saved and changed so many times, that I even forgot to name it. In the end I thought the name can just be Magic!”.
Opening the EP, ​Magic is littered with glistening percussion, tribal drums and mysterious exotic undertones. It’s an immersive track and one that begs you to get lost in it its rhythm. Me Me Me label boss Man Power adds a harder edge to his extended version that veers off midway with a huge, pounding bass and a furious flurry of synths. Trojan Horse ​is a dark and hypnotic affair with middle-eastern influences and industrial percussion. Kiwi puts his own stamp on the closing track adding a low, growling bass and subtle distortions.
Anii is living proof that hard work pays off. Since arriving in London from her native Poland, she’s earned a solid reputation for playing high quality melodic techno and has appeared on line ups alongside Kolsch, KiNK and Michael Mayer. She’s had releases on revered imprints including Kompakt and Polymath, and this latest EP on Alex Niggemann’s esteemed label marks the beginning of a fruitful relationship.

A new Chapter is upon us. ‘The Mirror: Reflected’ dazzles with four brilliant representations of Kieran Apter's original works released on Chapter 24 in early 2018.

Apter, a label regular hotly tipped for success as the head honcho and resident DJ of Edinburgh house and techno party ‘Tweak_’, is joined this time by four heavyweights who make a big impression.

Co-owner of Maeve, The Drifter is a DJ and producer of the highest order. He opens the book with an Edition of the title track which pairs bombast and dancefloor drive with a heavy dose of cosmic disco goodness.

The first to rework ‘Without’, Apter’s collaboration with Leon Power, is Hamburg’s very own Doctor Dru. The track is a masterclass in deep, propulsive and forward-thinking house music that makes full use of the haunting and evocative vocal of the original.

Next, ESP Institute, Futureboogie and Culprit artist and hero of Ibiza’s We Love… at Space, Ian Blevins presents a deep, contemplative and emotional meditation for the afterhours as his reimagination of the track.

Domenic Cappello closes the EP out. The legendary DJ and mainstay of Glasgow’s Sub Club recasts ‘Without’ through layered and interweaving arpeggios that are reminiscent of Larry Heard. The effect is highly compelling and hypnotic and a fitting end to the package.

Both deep and emotional, functional and meaningful, 'The Mirror: Reflected' EP presents four stories in sound from key players in the game that each cast a light on the power of dance music to move us.

Sometimes you have these travel weeks where you keep on flying and it really felt that I spent more time on planes and airports than I spent time in the countries where I was. I went from a very nice intimate setting in Denver to a Finnish Sauna in Helsinki, to my first gig ever (finally) in Cairo, Egypt and ended that week in London at the Madison. I met many new people and also had encounters with people who I did not expect to see at all. Overall another wonderful week in my life. 2018 was a very special year with many highlights. I want to thank all of you who listen to my music over and over again and also make it to shows I am playing all over the world. I love days in the studio creating these new songs, edits and remixes but I feel most alive when I am able to feel the energy in a club, rooftop or pool party and share the happy energy where we can all connect together and fuel our hearts and souls. Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope you will be able to spend these days with your beloved ones. Focus, be loving and kind and with a simple smile on our face we can make this world a better place. Hailing from Copenhagen Denmark, Disfunctional Disco has been a key player in the Copenhagen house scene for many years now, both as a DJ, playing all venues in Copenhagen, and around the world, alongside many of the top names in the scene, but also as one half of Kulturshot, who has brought many legendary parties to Copenhagen, Geneva and Paris. Monaberry’s label boss, good old Herb, is back in business. The House multi-talent curates the latest Mona compilation – Herberts Best #8.  Famous Monaberry artists and new faces from all over the world follow his call and deliver exquisite productions to grandpa Herbert.

Tim Engelhardt’s contribution “Skin” is a deep hitting symphony of a cineastic atmosphere, rolling drums, crystal clear luminescent synths and captivating arpeggios. Mi.li.an’s vocals enchantingly highlight the track’s vibrant beat and the analog drive finally flows into bubbly extasy.

Just right after the release of his latest track on Monaberry Sobek pleases grandpa Herbert with “Camerlengo” – a gently evolving and hypnotically dragging track with some smacking groove that wraps around the floating framework and tickles your senses all at once.

Armonica, the charismatic duo from the dephts of Italy, put a mad peaktime track on the table. “Time” is just bursting with slightly dark synths and FXs. The energizing bass line and the vocals reduced to the essentials are literally pushing this track onto the global stage.

Another track is delivered by Sonic Future from Porto Alegre, Brazil. His artwork “Pontilismo” is full of vigorous rhythm, crisp synth variations and minimal 80ies flair that will knock your socks off. Especially the filter modulated chords carry you away to Alpha Centauri and fuse together with the beat into an embracing sound.

Luis Junior brings “Go Gech” into play, a rotating Detroit UFO made of technoid ruthlessness and deep groove. He successfully blends dramatic synth chords, vocal snippets, and striking FXs into a continuous storyboard with a break that will make your endorphins dance and pleases with a lovingly staged happy end.

Italian stallion Ivan Masa uses Afro House elements and sprinkles some melodic parts and softly playful groove to build the sound frame of “Nativity”. Dense spaces and percussions merge into an ethno inspired work of art that will flow straight into your body and soul.

Ikarius & Dhakka join with “Salvation”, a hypnotic production that catapults the audience into a next dimension with opulent synth chords and effects, crunchy claps and subtle toms. The track composition is indeed psychedelic and a powerful tool.
Ultimately, a compilation like this can only be brought into being by good old Herb himself. We bow to his wisdom and cannot wait for these seven gorgeous pieces.

Second track comes from Madrid based producers Depaart. Their key element is an unpredictable arpeggiator supported by an uplifting baseline while followed by filtered vocal cuts. 

'Woodpecker' is the work of Berlin based producer duo T.M.A! This track has so many great details which makes it hard to explain but for sure you will dance and smile.
