Don Son - Organized Confusion [trndmsk]

La Danza de las Bestias is a live electronic music duo formed in 2015 by Sebastián Morán and Luciano Cirone, whose proposal oscillates between techno, acid, house and break. Through their dawless Live Set they seek to imprint in their shows primal, electric and the hypnotic feelings. We are happy to announce that they're joining the Módula family with an EP that builds a bridge between their aesthetic journey and their current projection on the dance floor.

"Los abismos negros" introduces us to a dark atmosphere of a Latin western with clean and spatial guitars; on the electronic highway appear the sung verses of La Danza capturing the feeling of futility, spiritual surrender, syncopation of the individualism in the collective dance that will occur on the dance floor. The track presents connection between psychedelic riffs with small acid ornaments under baths of noisy intensities in a constant rhythmic indie dance skeleton.

Founded in 2023, Modula is an electronic music label with a unique proposal in the Buenos Aires music scene. His sound aesthetics can be associated with indie dance, dark disco or melodic techno, but the fundamental essence of his music is the conditions of its production: the use of analog synthesizers, sequencers, rhythm machines and other hardware devices that they use the artists that belong to the label to produce and perform their music. That is where Module finds its identity. The sound exploration, the aesthetic search and the time dedicated to these artisan processes of composition and completion of the music differ from the current accelerated processes of electronic production and place the label's participants on the radar of artists who stand out for the use of these instrumentals and the curatorship of said music.

"Vibrations and frequencies of Chicago, Detroit and West London permeate “IF IT AINT DEEP,” the new 6 track mini-LP from Ric Miranda. The tracks, created in the first two weeks of 2024, make for deep, late-night listening. They range in style, touching on Detroit Techno, Broken Beat, and Deep House - all musical movements that have influenced Ric’s musical journey. The title came about because of the rigidity of the sub genre category that Ric’s records are always placed in at record stores.

“IF IT AINT DEEP” is the 18th vinyl release on Noble Square Recordings.

“No Desires” features Roland drum sounds against a wash of synth chords and a rubbery lead and was created as a musical work out.

“Lost Skills” was also created as an exercise of sonic frustration and features a hollow arpeggiated lead over dirty chords and a low slung bassline. “If It Aint Deep” takes things a bit deeper with a feeling of late night scenes of passing lights and nostalgic memories of the future. “Day 2 Forget” is a more funky style that contains vibrations of both Chicago and Detroit. “Josette” is another fusion composition with layers of Latin rhythms, epic strings and atmospheric sounds.
“Vibe Conduit” completes the “IF IT AINT DEEP” mini LP with broken beats, crashes, splashes and a deep dub bass."

Kevin Castro jette un premier Frisson sur l’année 2018 de Curiosity Music ! 
Après avoir confié aux bons soins de Curiosity Music son EP Microdub, sorti en mars 2017, Kevin Castro renoue avec le label parisien en ce début d’année 2018 à l’occasion de la sortie de Frisson, annoncée le 19 février. Le talentueux producteur américain y délivre deux titres subtiles et cadencés. Ce onzième EP estampillé CM marque aussi le retour aux affaires d’Alexi Delano, le parrain de l’aventure, auteur d’un excellent remix, et l’entrée dans sa famille artistique de Funkastle et Pedro Floriani. Rien de tel pour lancer l’année !

Présenté en mars 2017, Microdub, son précédent EP signé par Curiosity Music, avait notamment valu à Kevin Castro deux Premiere consacrées par Electronic Groove et 8day_Montreal. Cette belle rencontre artistique entre le producteur américain et le label parisien ne pouvait rester sans lendemain. Révélé en 2014 à l’occasion d’un premier EP publié chez SCI+TEC, le très réputé label de Dubfire, le mélomane avant-gardiste lance l’année 2018 de Curiosity Music avec un nouvel EP intitulé Frisson. Américain issu d’une famille originaire de Colombie, terre de salsa et de merengue par excellence, Kevin Castro défie les théories du genre musical avec brio, oscillant entre house, minimal, techno et jazz. Il livre ici deux tracks d’une minimal house léchée, aux sonorités – tantôt douces, tantôt abrasives – à la fois rétro et futuristes. 

Point de départ de cet EP, le titre Frisson aurait pu rester un secret jalousement gardé : « Je l’ai produit il y a un certain temps. À la base, ce morceau désassemblé et divisé en plusieurs racines devait irriguer mon set, un peu comme un fil rouge, un lead sound. Vu toutes les réactions positives que j’ai reçues après plusieurs soirées, j’ai finalement décidé de le publier tel qu’il était réellement. » Avant de le confier aux bons soins de Curiosity Music, il l’a révélé lors d’une soirée à New York, où il s’est produit juste avant Dubfire. « Alors qu’il s’installait au platines et que nous allions switcher, j’ai joué Frisson en closing de mon set. Dubfire a donc débuté le sien de cette manière. C’était grandiose. Un vrai moment de… frisson ! » L’histoire de Mariposa, deuxième titre original de cet EP, est sensiblement différente : « Sa production a été moins méthodique et plus émotionnelle. J’avais envie de fréquences plus élevées, d’une texture plus expérimentale et d’un spectre sonore plus large tout en conservant ma signature artistique », commente-t-il.
