Greets from Lisbon via Berlin via Istanbul… Isolate continue to blossom post-isolation with more evocative late-night tales. Imagination-arresting, subtly radiant and powerfully journey-like; this time our navigator is Rafael Da Cruz. Fresh from his recent EP on Duat Folklore, and a previous cameo on Isolate’s first ‘Mutations’ volume, it’s his first full EP for Murat Uncuoglu & Alican’s label.

Four tracks deep, each one pregnant with momentum and that poignant sense of yearning, Rafael – who is also a known music journalist – brings his natural sense of narrative to life across the EP. The earnest, expectant drama of the title track ‘Caparica’ sets the scene while ‘Flor’ whisks us off our feet on a flying carpet of hope, only to bring us back down to earth with a relentless tribal groove.

Deeper we travel into Rafael’s psyche as ‘Bairro’ wraps us up tightly with swooping pads and sudden sprightly rays of uplifting hooks before ‘Vista’ solemnly marches us into the unknown under a shower of percussive shooting stars, drawing the curtain on this dream-like experience with a pulsating technoid switch.

Mildly psychedelic, heavily groove-based, always vibrant. It’s another sweet trip from the Isolate family.

With 2018 as a dazzling year for both Hollt and Sandeep, the two friends team up again to combine their love for the melodic and deep. ‘Above Distance’ is the second collaboration between the DJ/producers featuring two tracks that compliment each other, whilst individually aimed at different moments during the night.

The release kicks off with ‘Above', a euphoric track designed for prime-time moments. The track’s groovy, yet sturdy start is followed by a compelling melody, after which the actual theme becomes apparent when the slightly darker bass line brings a new energy to the fold. Mid-track the energy unleashes full force, surely bringing the listener in a euphoric state of mind.

‘Distance’ is a warm, and laid back track that builds on an open atmosphere, where strings and solid drums are laying the foundation. The different layers of melody and a dark, yet compelling bassline are building, leading up to a characteristic break that evolves to a atmospheric climax. It’s a track heavily influenced by the long and deep sets both Hollt and Sandeep play in clubs like Toffler and Basis.

Hollt & Sandeep’s ‘Above Distance’ will be released on January 21st, 2019.

"A rare moment of beauty saw Rudy UK release "All Things Fade" to critical acclaim in March 2019. With one set of remixes already riding high, a second now sees Australian and UK talents continue the story.

With exquisite attention to detail, a unique approach to his craft and creativity in abundance, Jamie Stevens has been a central figure in the underground dance scene for over two decades. Able to call upon a wealth of experience from his ground-breaking Infusion moniker and solo career, the two-time ARIA award winner has carved out a crevasse-sized niche for himself with his live performances and incomparable production work. Performances at the renowned Fabric in London and Womb in Tokyo have been added to a long list of gigs in New York, Moscow, Singapore and across his native Australia. Production work has seen Stevens light up the catalogues of John Digweed's Bedrock, Guy J's Lost & Found and Cid Inc.'s Replug, to name but a few. Now making his Proton Music debut, the aptly titled, "Jamie Stevens Golden Return Remix" takes "All Things Fade" in a scintillating club-oriented direction, heralded in the opening stages with its intricately patterned percussive groove and syncopated synth stabs. Progressing effortlessly, a warm glissando bassline slides across the lower frequencies while the sumptuous piano refrains from Rudy's original appear seamlessly at the breakdown and into the second half. The result is a wonderful new interpretation that perfectly illustrates Stevens' exalted status as an iconic name within the underground dance fraternity.

Austrian based, Dan Orsen, is an artist of considerable repute. As renowned producer and A&R head of Cid Inc.'s Replug imprint, the UK born producer has found himself at the vanguard of modern underground house and techno. A growing but highly prestigious release portfolio has seen Orsen release a variety of original and remix production material on the likes of Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat and a wealth of material on Replug. A regular on Particles and Proton Music, June 2015 saw the three-track "Elysium" EP make its mark on the former, while a quartet of remixes for the likes of Roger Martinez, GMJ and Matter have made a distinct impression on the latter. Adding to his portfolio, a fifth now sees Orsen rework "Real You" to mesmerising effect. Using the components from Rudy's original to superb effect, Orsen has created a striking club-friendly remix that utilises a dynamic rhythmic groove and heavy beat. A filtered arpeggio adds to the dance vibe before gated pads provide a moment of textured intrigue at the mid-point. Building once more through the arpeggiated phrase, the track blossoms post-breakdown into a richly layered affair that showcases a wealth of additional production work from the Orsen studio.

With vivid new remixes from Jamie Stevens and Orsen, Rudy's success with "All Things Fade" shows no sign of waning.

Just a few months after EdOne purveyed his own reinterpretation to
Ivory & Auggie’s leaden prototype, demonstrating a fine
comprehension of “Basic Rhythm,” he returns on MoBlack Records,
now alongside Martin HERRS, and INVŌKER on remix duties, with
“Tatalina.” On A side, the Spaniards delicately unfold a poignant
sojourn that wanders and diffuses the rims of isolation and
belonging. The tender, 6:28 minute aural escapade starts off with a
simple ingress, pummeled by an inquisitive bassline into a gripping
melodic procession. Tatalina escalates to a euphoric stillness
transcended by haunting piano chords, but breaks free when
intermittently disrupted by deep synthetic pulsations, evoking the
frailty of memory and vulnerability of emotion.
French rising star INVŌKER deploys his empowered rendition of the
title track, pulling a bit less feeling from emotion and a little more
feeling from sense. Tension and groove pull and reverb in this
particular tug of play, where space is dark, energy is incandescent
and the texture of sound is moist and locomotive. MB384 sits in the
juncture of memory, motion and emotion, a pursuit of that fleeting
moment that is only present in one instant, as well as an attempt to
prolong its existence through sound.
