'The first release of 2023 on Damon Jee’s imprint Dust & Blood comes by French duo Kimshies and once again, the guys show what they can do best, explosive indie dance and dark disco for the dancefloor.

Long-time friends and collaborators Peo Watson and Mika Frojman have returned with the latest in a string of releases following their reunion in 2018. After a twelve-year break, the French duo decided to team up again when their 2004 undercover vinyl only tune was brought back into the limelight during one of Solomun’s sets. Since their rebirth, they’ve more than made up for lost time with powerful releases on exclusive labels such as Aeon, Duro and Ombra. Their new offering ‘Blue Planet’ is an intricate and futuristic five-tracker that showcases their unique technical talent and eclectic influences.

The sci-fi-inspired title track invites the listener to dive in head first, setting the tone with its ebb and flow of intricately wrought layers. Urgent stabs combine with a relentless beat and distorted, echoing whispers in a surreal fever dream.

‘Cortex Five Senses’ then brings a retro touch with its driving synth line and unpredictable sound, building up into an explosion of tension as seductive yet almost pleading vocals bleed into each other in a desperate dialogue.

It’s followed by ‘Trapped’ (featuring Erick Faulkner), an intense track that evokes a feeling of unrest and panic with ominous lyrics backed by an aggressive rhythm and urgent sirens.

The electric and evocative ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ switches up the vibe with hypnotic riffs straight out of a classic Western movie and a heady, electrifying bassline that runs throughout, perfectly underlining the enigmatic female vocals.

The release wraps up with ‘Coming Out’, an eerie stomper of a track that takes the listener into unfamiliar territory, with distant, almost robotic voices seeping through looming alien sounds and a hard beat.
This unpredictable EP never releases its grip, masterfully building tension from the get-go to leave you breathless and wanting more. Set to be released on April 7th via Damon Jee’s uncompromising and cosmic Dust & Blood imprint.'

The acclaimed mixtape series IN DARK WE TRUST, curated by seasoned and respected Berlin-based DJ and producer Berny, has become a label. IDWT has been delivering high-quality Indie Dance/Dark Disco singles for over a year and has already gathered a starry roster: Fred Berthet, DJ Rocca (SXDNS021/BLOG003), Cabizbajo, BadWolf (FREEDL025), Alberto Melloni, and Beyond The Struttosphere (SXDNS263), just to name a few, have already appeared on the rising outlet.

Interestingly, no EPs or compilations here, singles only. At least so far, the imprint has focused on bringing to life one unique piece at a time. We don’t know about you, but we, sexy dinosaurs, tend to appreciate such a format.

For its next instalment, the label welcomes ØBLVN, a promising Mexican duo with previous works published on important platforms such as Veneno, NEIN, Phisica, and Discos Prohibidos. Their “Ritual” comes packed with the characteristic blend of their individual influences, seamlessly assembled, resulting in a dark and muscular cut with a trippy but stompy gait and obscure but upbeat atmosphere.

How great it is that in our time there are such talented musicians who are able to combine different genres and create something new and unique! Vityaz Ep has landed, which is an excellent example of how modern Indie Dance rhythms, Dark Disco motifs and Nu Disco groove can be combined together. Each track on this release simply amazes with its beauty and depth. Plus an amazing work of the remixers who did their work at the highest level. Chinosynth from Culiacan, MX and part of Nativo, then it comes Nina Lebed a VJ, DJ and producer from Buenos Aires, Arg, and landing from an UFO it comes Tierra de Ovnis, from CDMX, with amazing releases on Duro and Rotten City, all remixers have contributed their skills to enhance the release. Their involvement adds a new perspective and dimension to the music.

"Vityaz" seems to be a powerful and energizing track that immerses you in a world of light and sound. It's interesting how you interpret the track as a reflection on personal strength and fighting for dreams while remaining true to one's identity. Music can indeed be thought-provoking and have deeper meanings beyond the surface level.

Closing with "Voevoda" indicates that it has a fast rhythm that compels you to dance. The harmonious blend of synthesizers and arpeggiators creates a unique atmosphere that helps you escape from everyday problems and simply enjoy the music. Despite the potential sadness in the mood, it seems to evoke strong emotions and a sense of being alive. ‘Amour Denoche’ promises to be a groundbreaking addition to the electronic music scene, offering a one-of-a-kind auditory experience that captures the essence of Mexico City's nightlife. From carefully selecting the perfect outfit to enjoying drinks with friends and capturing the moment on social media, this EP explores the visual and sensory aspects of contemporary nightlife. It reflects the desire to emulate the glamorous lifestyles of celebrities, highlighting the increasingly visual nature of modern social experiences.

The EP draws inspiration from legendary artists such as Giorgio Moroder and Patrick Hernandez. Drawing inspiration from the energy and synergy of clubgoers, Brave reached out to his close friend, Michelmor, who contributed lyrics and vocals to the songs. The aim was to recreate the same sense of unity and joy through their music, resulting in a truly dynamic and engaging EP—an invitation to leave behind inhibitions and embrace the glamour and positive vibes that come with a night of music and dance.
