'Argentinian producer Ric Niels makes his debut on Hicky & Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records with his beautiful track 'Walking In The Woods'. The song is a mix of ethereal synths, groovy bassline and tasty drums. The glorious vocals of Hydrah add a sumptuous aura to the music.

First on remix duty, we found Dmitry Molosh. The Belarusian DJ and producer is famous for his inimitable progressive sound and excellent taste in music. Dmitry represents his country far beyond its borders as one of the most forward-thinking electronic music artists in the world. Here, he created a huge progressive piece filled with trancy melodies and one of the most epic drop we heard in a long time.

Also rising out of Argentina's electronic underground are the elusive duo Analog Jungs. Made up of Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte, Analog Jungs was born out of a love for rhythm, groove and melody. The duo is back on the label after their successful release of 'Landscape' with Oliver & Tom last year.

To close out the package, there's an instrumental version of 'Walking In The Woods' for the DJs uneasy with vocals.

Hicky & Kalo say: 'Super happy to welcome Ric Niels on our label. We are fan of his music, we played many of his tracks over the last few years. Same thing for Dmitry Molosh, he is currently the best progressive house producer no doubt. Such an honour to welcome him on the Plaisirs Sonores family.'

The latest release from Deepwibe Underground welcomes Paul Hamilton and CaThY K to the label for their debut EP. The former, born in Malta and now based in Dubai, is one of the underground’s most highly regarded progressive house artists. Paul has found a home on Armada, Balkan Connection, Droid9, Freegrant Music and Perspectives Digital, while his equally impressive DJ skills have seen him perform at Ministry Of Sound (Dubai) and Godskitchen (Dubai). Also hailing from Malta is CaThY K who has been a fixture of the country’s nightlife for the better part of two decades. Her unique track selection and exquisite programming skills have led her to perform in some of Malta’s trendiest venues alongside top international and Maltese talent. Also well established as producer, CaThY has been perfecting her craft for over six years and lays claim to an impressive resume, with releases via Another Life Music, Droid9, SLC-6 Music and Soundteller Records. Having delivered a track for Deepwibe’s Digital imprint earlier this year, Paul and Cathy now debut on the label’s primary platform with ‘Debauchery’.

Flexing their collaborative powers, the EP begins with the groovy sounds of the title selection. Here Paul and Cathy craft a deep, chunky foundation with a nostalgic tinge, while layers of flickering percussion and ominous atmospheres slowly surround the framework. This is mood setting material at it’s best and while the scope of the journey continues to grow it isn’t until the main break where we get multiple explosions of serotonin. Metallic riffs dominate the centrepiece, creating an electric air, all while maintaining the track’s cool low slung mood.

Selection two ‘Different Intentions’ continues on that same level with deep chugging grooves and exotic drums serving as the backbone for bleepy loops and waves of haunting atmospherics. A well crafted break sits at the core of the journey with nothing big or overblown to ruin the mood, but rather a smooth hazy build into powerful beats and soundscape science.

Rounding out the release is ‘Muusiiqaa’ which is mysterious and mystical from the outset. A heavier emphasis on effects makes for a tripper vibe compared to it’s predecessors, but the same groove-centric appeal ultimately carries the journey towards fluttery second act melodies, before a vortex of percussion and noise spark a commanding drop. Thrilling stuff from Paul and Cathy who make an impressive Deepwibe Underground debut with three dominate progressive creations. Don’t miss it.

Tash's Movement Recordings closes out the month of August by welcoming Amono Dio to the label for their debut EP. Comprised of Kevin Sunray and Roni Iron, the Amono Dio project first emerged earlier this year with a string of releases via Italy's Frequenza Records. Both well established in their respective solo careers, Kevin and Roni boast a collective discography with projects via Armada, Blackhole, Kingstreet, Ministry of Sound, Nitegrooves and more. No stranger to Movement Recordings, Roni's label debut came in 2015 with a well received remix of 'Candy Lips' by T.Pals and John Teki, before going on to contribute original productions to the label's 'Modern Filosophy' and 'Technical Progress' collections, as well as his own EP project 'Hidden Places' which landed in 2020. Now making a welcome return to the Movement, Roni pairs with Kevin Sunray as Amono Dio for a two-track showcase entitled 'Sophocles', alongside remixes from Peter Makto and Reboq.

Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Electra' is Peter Makto. The Hungarian artist and Truesounds label boss has firmly etched his place in the electronic underground with releases via Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden, Where The Heart Is and more. Having made his label debut alongside occasional studio partner Gregory S in 2019, Peter now returns in solo capacity for a spirited take on 'Electra'. Fluid and groovy in equal measure, it's a mix that carries the sensibility of the original, while adding a deeper vibe through meditative arps and fuzzed out effects. Building beautifully into the main break, nostalgic chord changes add an emotive flair, while ghostly vocal choirs eventually give way to buzzing tonal themes and a tastefully tranquil conclusion.

"Returning to the Tecnosine Progressive fold, Daniel Sampson, better known as Sebastian G Clarke re-incarnates the Seb Clarke alias with Sam Cydan pres. Cydana. Developed as a sub-project of his Trance alias Sam Cydan, Daniel's new project is inspired by the likes of Alex O'Rion, GMJ & Matter, Cid Inc, Hernan Cattaneo, and Paul Thomas, among other notable names in the Progressive House space. The first release of this new and improved project is a 3 track EP, "Placement / Sentient / Auriga." The three tracks represent an evolution in style as well as name and show off Daniel's skills as both a melodic and groove-oriented producer. "Placement" features a dark, brooding breakdown that reaches a climactic drop, perfect for the peak time moments. "Sentient" is a groovier, atmospheric cut. Part of the "Fall Particles 2019", Julian Nates now returns with "Luminism", reprising the original track and adding the delightful, "Renaissance". Remixes come from UK and UAE stars.

From Cordoba, Julian Nates has forged a name for himself from his home in central Argentina. An accomplished pianist and violinist in early years, he reached a professional standard in drums after studying at the acclaimed music conservatory in his hometown. A switch to electronic music quickly saw success with over a century of production credits and releases on Balkan Connection, Soundteller and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Adding to the light melodic overtones of "Luminism", partner tack, "Renaissance" is full of the impressive musical sensibilities of the title track as off-beat shakers and intelligent clave percussion pave the way for a syncopated arpeggio to trip delicately across the mid-range. Building with ease, further arpeggiated sequences entwine and evolve as richly textured pads pulsate gently in waves before coming to the fore in a stripped-back breakdown. Hitting its stride, all elements combine once more in a sparkling second half to impressive effect.

A growing force since early production work for Clinique Recordings in late 2016 and early 2017, Imran Khan's career has continued to gather pace at an impressive rate. Through an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and developing his production technique, the UK artist's portfolio has continued to find him a sea of admirers with over 100 credits for the likes of MNL, Astrowave and Superordinate Music. The "Organik" and "Sunsweat" EPs were notable 2019 highlights for Proton Music, while "Arrival" was a Particles highlight in August 2018 including remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente and Dabeat and Hot TuneiK. Reworking the title track, the trademark percussive phrase of "Luminism" opens proceedings alongside an intricate groove carved by Imran Khan. New motifs shine through as Khan's production talent is in full evidence with a plethora of new production material that takes the essence of the original and takes it on a new sonic voyage of discovery. Over its 10-minute duration, layers of sound melt into the complex rhythmic structure to create another high-class sonic interpretation.

A renowned DJ across the Middle East, Ejaz Ahamed has found success with his support slots for Digweed, Cattaneo, Zabiela and a host of others. In tandem a production career has continued to showcase the Dubai resident's skill with a clutch of growing releases for the likes of Stellar Fountain, PHW Elements and Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital. A pair of remixes for Jero Nougues and Sam Heyman saw an opening salvo for Particles in mid-2017 and 2018 and it is a pleasure to welcome the Indian born artist back for a third outing. Taking on "Renaissance", the Ejaz Ahamed remix revels in cascading bassline prowess that pays tribute to Nates' original with its intelligent use of central arpeggio that is transformed and developed in innovative new fashion alongside a chorus of new production work. Cast within a strong and dynamic new rhythmic framework, the resultant interpretation is an impressive affair.
