Opening 2022’s third quarter, Clubsonica Records welcomes Analog Jungs back to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Argentina and comprised of Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte, Analog Jungs first emerged in 2015 and quickly earned the praise of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. The duo’s colourful, club friendly sound has found a home on some of the genre’s trendsetting imprints, such as Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers and The Soundgarden. Clubsonica has also been a landing spot for Analog Jungs in the past, with the duo remixing ‘Wild Side’ by fellow countryman Julian Nates in March of 2020. Now, on the strength of an EP for GMJ and Matter’s Meanwhile, the Cordoba duo return to Clubsonica with ‘Arun | Tadasana’, alongside remixes from Sean & Dee and Ejaz Ahamed.

Beginning with the panoramic synth textures and powerful drive of ‘Arun’, Analog Jungs flex their free-thinking muscles with a creation equally at home on a peak time dance floor or floating above a festival skyline. An unexpected shade is revealed through horn-like stabs, as celestial sonics forge a path into the main break. Wavy arps rise and shapeshift across the interlude, bringing a tasteful balance of tension and emotion as the groove drops for a thrilling conclusion. Meanwhile, the companion piece ‘Tadasana’ is an apt barometer of where Analog Jung’s headspace is at, as the duo lets poignant melodies blanket buoyant beats and a forest of striking percussion. The duo’s instinctive ability to tip a dance floor over the edge is reaffirmed with emotive chord changes and balmy atmospherics carrying into the main break. Looking to bring even greater emotional depth, the centerpiece delights with its cinematic sense of space, eventually giving way to percolating melodies and a suitably charged finale.

Operating out of Pune, Nakul Ambilkar aka SEQU3l has become one of the brightest lights in India’s electronic underground. While finding a comfortable home on Movement Recordings he has also showcased his music on Beat Boutique, ICONYC and Juicebox Music. ‘Phat Sashimi / Jelly Bell’ now finds SEQU3l returning to the Greek imprint alongside remixes from TH;EN & Starkato and Paul Angelo & Don Argento. 

SEQU3l’s ability to craft energetic, melodic sound stories is second to none. How he incorporates emotion in an elegant yet impactful way is perhaps what makes him such a unique artist. The lead track ‘Phat Sashimi’ is a fine example of that with it’s rolling groove and vibrant themes. Pulsating and laced with crunchy effects, the first act develops in waves before a one minute interlude pushes the dramatic storyboard into a heady, percussive finale. The companion piece ‘Jelly Bell’ continues the darker narrative with a wealth of powerful peak time moments. Immaculately contoured bass tones sit at the foundation while cascading chord stabs, detailed percussion and wispy atmospherics fill in the framework. The break while spacious and airy presents a symphonic lead, uniquely mystical it serves as a catalyst, igniting a fiery third act finale. 

The lone interpretation of ‘Phat Sashimi’ is provided by TH;EN & Starkato who return to the label for their second appearance. The trio delivered their ‘Rina’ EP for the Greek imprint in January of this year and also own releases on ICONYC and Sprout. Here they bring their unique crossover style to ‘Phat Sashimi’ with great success. With a tougher, techno inspired sensibility the trio craft a remix that’s going to go down well on a wide variety of darker dance floors. It’s tight arp is incredibly hypnotic while a complement of fierce percussion and growling synth work leads to a fantastic finish. 

The lone interpretation of ‘Jelly Bell’ is provided by Paul Angelo & Don Argento who are making their second appearance on the label. The Cyprus based duo first appeared on the Greek imprint in July of last year with a contribution to the label’s ‘Technical Progress, Vol. 7’ collection. Now following releases on Soundteller Records and Suffused Music, Paul and Don return to Movement, closing the release out with a superb rendition of ‘Jelly Bell’. The duo take the sleek original and transform it into a chunky, driving beast of a remix. Thick slabs of bass roll forward in muscular fashion as dark stabs and piercing effects fill in the framework. The symphonic theme comes to life during the break before a flurry of effects ignites a killer drop. A massive remix from Paul and Don which rounds out yet another must release from SEQU3l and Movement Recordings.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint begins their 2019 journey by showcasing new interpretations of Matias Vila's 'Ahora'. Originally released in July of 2018 on the label's 'Summer Sampler', it found the Argentina born, Spanish based artist crafting an organic, highly creative production with a myriad of psychedelic concepts. Earning praise from Adana Twins, Audiofly and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, 'Ahora' now gets remade by Stelios Vassiloudis and Eran Aviner & Hermanez for the new year. 

The second and final interpretation of 'Ahora' finds Eran Aviner and Hermanez presenting their debut collaborative effort. As one of Belgium's most cutting edge artists, Eran Aviner is highly selective in choosing his production projects. His short but meticulous discography is highlighted by appearances on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Also the co-founder of 'Edge', a leading nightlife brand and record label in Belgium, Eran has shared the stage with Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Kiasmos and more. Also hailing from Belgium and making his Sound Avenue debut is Michael Coninx aka Hermanez. Perhaps best known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music, Suara, Traum and his own Aella imprint, the Belgian artist has recently found a place in the deeper, dreamier spectrum of house with an EP on Guy J's Lost & Found Records and a soon to be released project on All Day I Dream. Now pairing up with fellow countryman Eran Aviner, the duo provide a stunning interpretation of 'Ahora' to close the release out. Building hypnotically; warm beats, organic drums and rugged bass tones unite for a highly rhythmic, free flowing framework. Smooth chord changes deliver a subtle yet powerful shift in emotive energy, as astral effects further saturate your senses as the main break commences. Coming to full fruition, the musical narrative evolves through timely modulation, creating a near two minute stretch of effervescent electronics and heartfelt melodic clusters, elegantly peaking and perfectly setting up a rousing finale. A gorgeous interpretation from Eran and Hermanez, rounding out another superb remix edition for Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint.

PREMIERE: Matias Vila - Ahora (Eran Aviner & Hermanez Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Tebra’s EP is a story that unwinds on the shaded paths of the ‘Gora’ - a poetic Serbian term for forest. Beaming through the trees in dense brush strokes, we see sunlight and hear an enchanting fusion of acoustic and electronic guitars that mingle, coil, and unravel together like rich tree roots. Other instrumental compositions in the originals and remixes - arranged with the duduk, flutes, synths, santur and saz - punctuate this story with mystery and history.

Deep in the woods, leaves rustle and branches shoot upwards to the vocals performed by Terba’s younger sister, Jovana Jaric. The words she sings come from an old Serbian folklore song, telling the tale of a girl who enters the forest heartbroken and comes out of it cured, and complete. 

The tableau of nature and enigma is completed by remixers Sander and multi-instrumentalist Stephane Salerno, Valeron and Dizharmonia, who push the story deeper and bring fertile emotion to light.

Evocative motifs filter across the deep blue night sky, charting a nostalgic path where shimmering soundscapes and syncopated rhythms evoke a "Return to Memories".

An iconic Canadian figure, Micah draws inspiration from complex rhythms swirling in a vortex of cascading patterns that ebb and flow in a rising tide of sound.
