Sometimes people give you the best present without even realising.

While on lockdown Daddy duties, Michel De Hey's daughter had a friend come to play. It gave him that elusive golden studio moment where he could finish an idea he'd been working on, but hadn't found the time to take it over the line. That friend's name was Nova.

'Nova Was Here' pays homage to that classic foundation house sound as Michel puts his Roland SH101 through its paces. A purring bassline, soft focus jacking beats and lavish springy keys.

Long-time friend and kindred spirit, Spectrum founder Joris Voorn agreed and sealed the deal with a much heavier, pulsating 3am twist on the rework. Michel calls it a 'slapintheface' remix and enjoyed every moment of the two weeks he could play it to real life dancefloors until clubs shut back down in The Netherlands. Another stunner from the label boss and a mix that can finally be unveiled for all to enjoy.

I don’t typically like to go backwards with my records, as they were meant for a particular place and time, but times have changed because of all the global pandemic... so I said why not. I’m actually happier with this new mix than the original I did 15 years ago. I tried to give the track a funkier, house feel. Hope you all like it and lets not forget that we should never stop partying - all the time!""

The original of 'Nu World' is a rousing single designed to sweep dancers off their feet. In Solomun's hands, it becomes one of his signature melodic masterpieces. The Diynamic label founder is one of dance music's most globally recognised stars. He has been immortalised in the legendary Grand Theft Auto video game, holds his own influential residency at Pacha in Ibiza and is on a near constant tour of the world's biggest clubs and festivals where he leads the house scene from the front. 

His seven minute rework of 'Nu World' is a typically emotive house track with yearning vocal samples immediately pulling you in. The fresh drums are underpinned by warm, rumbling bass, and the searching synth craft is expansive. When the classic piano chords come in mid-way through, hands will go skyward and the dance floor will be united as one. 

This is a remix that brings heartfelt joy and rousing house grooves.

Here is the first remix pack from Christian Smith's album 'Stranger Than Paradise'. We were lucky to enlist some of our favourite new and established producers. This pack includes three remixes from NYC house legend Harry Romero ironically delivering a storming techno remix; Dutch techno legend Steve Rachmad giving us a classy, dubby and filtered mix, and upcoming Italian artist Paride Saraceni beefing up the original "Transition" track.
