The Lumens Bio

"The Lumens are Luca Doobie and Mech, both Milan born and raised, who reflect in their music the city's renewed mood: arty, frantic and futuristic. Driven by solid grooves and spiky sound design, their blend of electronic house and minimalist techno allowed them in a short time to reach an uncompromised vibe. The duo started as promoters and djs of the Electronic Barbecue open air party in the summer of 2017, then took on the Phoenix Room night at Plastic and Dude Club, followed by a partnership with Pennyroyal Aftertea and most recently Phase Collective: four brands who quickly became synonymous of quality music and empathic atmosphere in Milan's nightlife. 

They simultaneously researched and developed new sounds to play alongside their slate of respected international guests such as Lamache, Giammarco Orsini, Anthea, Robin Ordell, Oshana, Diego Krause, Ada Kaleh, Vinyl Speed Adust, iO(Mulen), Rossko, Monika Ross, Julien Sandre and Mennie, Jonny N Travis, Bosconi Showcase, Ray Okpara, Christian Burkhardt, and more. 

The Lumens recently lit up the floor in Barcelona and Berlin with a four hours set at Hoppetosse. The next step has been the debut of their own vinyl label Positive Not Happy who released three vinyls between May 2020 and April 2021, including a specific bandcamp exclusive output. Currently they are busy in their new studio polishing a new bounce of tracks, their typical attitude and enthusiasm coupled with an intense workflow will manifest in a solid pack of eclectic cuts."

Bio Niko Papass:

Multidisciplinary artist, composer and live performer, founder of Magic Garden Festival, community gatherer & eco-builder.

From a very young age, Nicholas Rousseau aka Kola Papass (Trance) aka Niko Papass (House) was raised in the music festival industry, discovering all genre of music always keeping a preference for the emerging and underground music, the next trend that will evolve a style to his climax. He started his first band at the age of 13 being the main composer, playing rhythm guitar and back vocals. Moving to the great city of Montreal, he then discovered the electronic music in his 20's, where he realized that his band was now possible all through the medium of a computer.

In his production, Papass uses healing frequencies and sonotherapy techniques to support the calibration of chakras, which intensifies a trance-like, blissful, state on the dance-floor.

After almost 20 years touring the underground festivals, Papass is now recognized for his high vibe melodic sets often accompanied by live multi-instrumentists musicians from The Tribe adding to the electronic mix an amazing organic vibe that fusions everything that Papass loves about music. The best of the two worlds!

Papass as played alongside big names such as Desert Dwellers, Perfect Stranger, Broken Toy, Entheogenic, Govinda, David Starfire, Vibrasphere, Protonica, The Human Experience, Suduaya, FM Radio Gods and many others in events such as Cosmic Convergence (GUA), Eclipse Festival (CAN), Burning Man (USA), Papaya Playa (MEX), Piknic Electronik (CAN)and many others.

Paul Hazendonk and his Manual Music is one of the backbones of electronic music in the Netherlands and beyond. Max Cooper, Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, Matador, Robert Babicz, John Tejada, Petar Dundov, Henry Saiz and Guy J are among a list of the world’s finest producers who made it onto the prolific Dutch imprint. The kind and gentle Rotterdam native label boss has seen over 35 countries as a DJ and released music on labels such as Diynamic, Sudbeat, Poesie Musik, 3000grad, Sony/Epic and numerous other infamous labels.

Although people like to genre-tag artists nowadays, it’s not easy to do so with Paul Hazendonk. Throughout the years of his career he has crafted his own distinctive sound. Elements of house- and techno music are blended with warm basslines and melodies but without losing sight of the dance floor.

Set on the tropical paradise of St. Martin is SXM Festival. For a solid week it's a dance music lovers paradise. Events are held in unique locations throughout the island, all culminating to the main festival site during the night. I had the privilege of opening the Ocean Stage with a dream lineup that also included Sinca, Monkey Safari and Roy Rosenfeld. 

Set in the sand alongside the lapping waves of the Caribbean Sea, this is my two hour opening set. Starting the night off with an empty dance floor and some deep, dreamy ambient soundscapes. From here, we build things up...  Enjoy the mix!! 🙏 ❤️

The setlist was specially curated for a local party in #Lada656 back in Dec 2022 "Happy New Fear by AfterHoursNeo" Live session was not recorded back then since an earlier session with different setlist that got recorded the same day was to be out on their radio station but did not make it due to low quality audio (Sesh is still available but it was marked as private). Moving fast forward to early 2024, live session and setlist were good enough to be released and relived so I recorded a fresh session re-imagined in the "Vortex" format.
