"Just as half the world is heading into the depths of winter, Also Ken provides some warmth under the guise of summary, crimson vibes with this new release.
My Connected's 4th offering sees floaty, nostalgia-inducing piano melodies coupled with tech-edged electronic riffs to give a contrasting, yet balanced mix of energies. The track builds slowly yet steadily, accumulating effortless harmonies and groove defining percussion on the way to its crescendo. Once there, it lets out an electrifying war cry in the form of a razor-sharp, 'Reese' style horn, clearing the path for cleverly placed bass plucks to lay the groundwork for another dose of the same intense synth release.
The track boasts Also Ken's trademark big bass and chucky beat formula that has seen a rise in his stock over the last year.
Joining in on this outing is a massive Remix from Liverpool's Truth Be Told. Again, chunky beats and bass-lines are the order of the day however this version of events sees less diversion from the essence of a house track. Delivering a more continuous groove with expertly placed percussion hits, swinging hats, and a captivating snare & clap combo. Whilst paying homage to the original, this remix also encapsulates the energy of Truth Be Told's own championed production sound. Layered in are some fresh, dynamic elements that caringly galvanise this take on the original.

Inspired by William Gibson's seminal Cyberpunk novel 'Neuromancer', both tracks on Proximo's latest EP capture the impact of light on the human senses - Light Lines attempts to sonically depict the visual hallucinations experienced in nightclubs, while Ninsei Neon captures the feeling of wandering around Tokyo at night, blinded by a sea of neon signs.

With a structure designed to be played back to front in the club, Proximo's tracks are progressive and constantly changing, never straying too far from their original vibe, but continuously introducing new elements to take the listener on a meticulously crafted journey.
