Living structures, percussive biosystems. For this episode I like to welcome YPY @koshiro-hino

Heading over from the Osaka underground club scene multi-instrumentalist and composer Koshiro Hino better known as YPY takes us into a world of heavy electronics, jazz influences and ritmo percussives. Next to his YPY long-running solo output. Hino is also a musician in a minimalist instrumental band named Goat. With his new record label NAKID he tries to earmark unheard organics and unpredictable ways of sound. 

I'm very pleased that he participated and will be the one to guide us through his musical fascinations.

Releasing music as Area for years, starting and running Kimochi in 2010, contributing to the Gramaphone Records blog, DJing worldwide, yet still remaining extremely low-profile, the attention always on the art and never on the person. This same ethos runs through Kimochi. No advertising, likely discovered via word-of-mouth (the way we did), small run releases that aren’t about moving units, always remaining true to a vision of immersive textural sounds presented in a unique and meaningful way. 

The Maybe More Oblong mixtape encapsulates this same spirit, deep melodic techno swims with hallucinatory house and euphoric trance-breaks, each turn a surprise, pushing us down into the murk only to pull us back up into a glowing light.

On this month’s show, Organic Analogue Records are excited to welcome Papadopoulopoulos, a deep cover DJ duo residing in Bristol, UK.
The name choice “Papadopoulopoulos” is a funny take on Greece’s most popular surname “Papadopulos” and since the late 60s has also gained a certain political weight. 
As a DJ duo, they are very much into creating complex auditory and emotional soundscapes, drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of different genres and taste, something they both have very much in common. One chair, one dream.

ORGANIC ANALOGUE TRANSMISSION 26 w. Papadopoulopoulos [01.10.2022]

In 2001 Dj Olive commenced work on a series of 'sleeping pills' designed to create deep warm enveloping environmental textures which become soft company for those who have trouble sleeping.

The first of these editions published by Room40 was Buoy (2004), followed by the aptly titled 'Sleep' (2006, though composed in 2001). Triage is the third in the series – and involves a much more complex and analog approach using many musicians, David Watson, Karl Frank, Vija Brazus and obscure vintage gear as well as additional production from Christian Fennesz.

Triage was initially exhibited in installation form at the 2008 Whitney Biennial and this published edition represents the soundtrack of the installation.
