The distortion of what seems to be ideals one thinks and desires to pursue. Feeling miserably static, at the same time and place, with no sense of progression. To believe those ideals were not clear enough or wanted to live by. Afraid they would become real.

From the prolific cultural epicenter of Montréal, Marie has emerged as one of the foremost electronic artists in contemporary underground pop today. As a long-time member of Les Momies de Palerme, Hotel Monochrome, DKMD, and Essaie Pas, Marie has continued to hone her many talents in Montréal’s fervent experimental communities for much of her adult life. Davidson’s intimate solo work is embodied through a host of synthesizers and drum machines that coalesce in synchronized harmony, punctuated by Marie’s hypnotic vocal delivery, sung and spoken in both French and English. Her third album Un Autre Voyage demonstrates her heightened compositional skill behind a sequencer as well as her singular ability to anesthetize the senses through the documentation of her own serial pattern of experiential growth.

Mannequin Records proudly presents the rare dark italo 12'' “Robespierre” by the italo wave trio Effetto Joule.

Originally released in 1989 on Top Sound Records, the reissue comes with extra demo tape material from their “Ultraviolet” tapes and with a killer Flemming Dalum remix of the title track. 

Effetto Joule formed in Modena during the second part of the 80’s. The pulsating heart of the band were the brothers Flavio and Valerio Biagi with the collaboration of Valerio Tassinari. Deeply influenced by the British synth pop heroes like Tubeway Army and Depeche Mode, the Biagi brothers were able to merge that kind of epic sounds with the more romantic Italian vision of the electronic dark wave.

Through his deeply melancholic drive, he invites listeners into a world of profound emotion, where dark thoughts, beauty, hope and introspection coexist. Jeff's artistic evolution pushes the boundaries of his craft and expands the horizons of his own unique sonic universe.

9039 is the first music project from Creative Director Jeff Silva, who started to practice music when he moved from Sao Paulo to Amsterdam in 2018. He bought his first bass guitar and MIDI keyboard to cover songs from Joy Division and Interpol.

The melancholic reverie of Jeff Silva illuminates the captivating journey of a highly sensitive person who uses his music as a vessel for introspection and emotional expression.
