ANIMALS009 sees French producer Benoit B make first contact with Melbourne’s Animals Dancing after releases on Into The Light, Berceuse Heroique, Unthank, Versatile and his own Banlieue. 

On ‘We Come In Peace’, Crystalline FM synthesis meets tight drums across four PSY FI tracks that showcase the producer’s shapeshifting style.   ‘Drums Symphony’ layers undulating rhythms from crisp drums, Arps, FM Bells & SFX that ebb & flow, building to a driving dance floor trip. ’La Retraite Des Rockers’ conjures Sakamoto & Vangelis in ’82 with eratic perc, warped metallic sfx & ominous pads that find balance with a glowing synth lead & syncopated bass.

The title track, ’We Come In Peace’ is a balearic trance stomper where swirling 303, pitch bending leads & glistening synths cascade across a pulsing bassline. 'Dreelkrugz Conquest' is lysergic mid tempo electro with gated synths hovering above a growling baseline and flutters of heavily affected synthwork.

With bright chords, pumping rhythms, and gripping bass lines, the fast-rising talent Aldonna emerges from Melbourne’s underground with her ‘Morph’ EP, including remixes from Alex Kassian and Marli, set for release via the always reliable HOMAGE label.

Having cut her teeth in Melbourne's lively community with her party series Re-Leaf and as a fixture on the Australian club circuit, Aldonna’s sound is clearly supercharged with dancefloor energy. And her passion hasn't gone unnoticed. Cosigns from the likes of BICEP, who tapped her to contribute to their acclaimed ‘Feel My Bicep’ mix series, prove she’s been an artist to watch for some time. Now with her debut EP, she introduces her own distinct sound which traverses seamlessly through nostalgic trance motifs and hyper ravey breaks. Aldonna is clearly making a push to be an unstoppable force in clubland.

The EP leads off with ‘Nights In Shizuoka’ and a rugged rhythm laying the foundation for arpeggiated synths building until a mystical pan flute carries the ballad to heavenly heights. Throughout the release, Aldonna showcases a knack for playing with a multitude of sonic textures, and the next track titled 'Air Sign' possesses layers of immersive textures, from tight acid lines to bubbling ambiance, haunting vocal chops, and warm emotive melodies layered over pumping breaks for an ecstatic anthem. The a-side concludes with 'For All That We Know' as a tight bass line sets the stage for Aldonna to build on her playful aesthetic with a shimmering and exuberant melody.

On the flip side, Aldonna goes full rave mode with 'The Empress' Acid Line', leading with chopped breaks before an infectious acid riff creeps and builds with seductive vocals, delivering massive energy that is palpable. Following the originals is a remix by Berlin-based Love On The Rocks mainstay Alex Kassian who aims his version of 'The Empress' Acid Line' at the most euphoric dancefloor moments and delivers a tried and true trancey euro-house weapon not to be overlooked. Rounding out the release is Melbourne’s own Marli who flips 'Air Sign' with a rumbling bass line to reveal a bumping house cut that will satisfy the most vibrant crowds in the dance.

Aldonna's 'Morph' EP is set for release on August 12th, 2022.

In a utopian lysergic world, music is what unites every soul. Today Fauve Records have the honor to release a prolongation of their “Make ___ Great Again” series with a brand new one revolving around Dream House. Close to Italo Disco, Dream House is a sub-genre of House and Trance music that appeared at the second half of the 90’s in Europe, with labels such as Dance Floor Corporation (DFC) or even ZYX Records.  

They’ve asked some of the best in the games to create a very diversified pallet of sub-sub-genres.  Alpine DJ with a fusion of Italo & Dream House, Mario Moretti with a flying club anthem, Tre Turner’s first official release with a more EBM approach filled with FM percussions, DJ Gear with a Deep Housy take, DJBoeing on a similar genre but with sunshine infused melodies and a catchy riff, Manuel Darquart with a Balearic downtempo acid grasping groove, Romain FX with a fast-paced mellow piano house jam, Val-Air to turn down the mood with a break-beat balearic tune and last but not least, Mangabey closing the compilation with a analog-tape & raw hip-hop infused house track.

A groovy mixture of surf, soul, rap and trash that's, more or less, how the @shishiband describes their sound. As Kolegos we wanted to give it that minty bass flavor to the track. Bringing this track to darker places of the dance floor with a mesmerizing 808 kick and those electro basslines.

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati. 

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines. 

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.
