In this chapter we knew Vardae, our beloved Cedric, who suddenly became a great friend due to his curious, interesting and pretty personality.

Vardae (@vardaemusic) is a project with the ambition of breaking away from the genre barrier, to explore new sounds territory around the love of psychedelic music. His productions and performances result in a percussive and hypnotic sound, a combination of tribal rhythms, repetitive leads and atmospheric textures which navigates from dub to tribe, passing through techno and drum’n’bass. Vardae defends a universe where immersion and experience prevail over codes with the idea of offering a journey to each of its appearances.

Ending the year with an awesome mix by @FlxK1, a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label honcho. His perspective has been a big inspiration in the music scene since the late '90s, from killer work on various labels to unforgettable performances.

This mix is a shout-out to 25 years of Hidden Hawaii and 10 years of Nullpunkt Recordings. Some of it you could hear at our London party in August 2023. Big thanks to Felix for this mix, and here's to many more awesome releases in the future.

Louis Rapet also known as Sindh or 9beats is a visionary DJ and Producer from France, who transcends genre boundaries through his evocative creations. The first podcast of the year features our dear friend, London-based DJ, and sound artist, Faery. Many of you are likely familiar with her work and may have experienced her enchanting performances at renowned venues like Amsterdam’s De School, Positive Education Festival, or London’s Village Underground. She has crafted an immersive, hour-long winter mix for us, which we are incredibly proud to present 🕯️

Faery’s hypnotic selections blend the psychedelic depths of deep techno, tripped-out psy-influenced sounds, dark vortex-like D’n’B, and experimental ambient. Her sound navigates through intricate sound design and rich, moody textures, both within the club realm and in listening scenarios. One of the notable examples of this is her ambient sound art project Bio-17 released last year, where original biorhythmic samples are woven into experimental ambient to create speculative sonic worlds 🌚✨

Faery’s profound introspective journey takes us through the shadowy realms of crepuscular ambient and downtempo. From the outset, we are lured and caught in its rich honey-like currents, spiralling like dervishes as we dive deep and deeper into the mystical sonic gyre. No words can do the sensation justice, so you’ll just have to try for yourselves. Happy swirling 💫

Combinant des grooves hypnotisants afin de créer des contes sonores, elle se concentre sur une recherche infinie d’atmosphères tribales et psychédéliques. 
Concernant son mix, voici ces mots : « Mon inspiration pour ce set est l'Eau, comme matière mais aussi comme énergie. Force élémentaire, le fluide aux formes infinies, la source de l'adaptabilité, des émotions et de la vie. In this balmy month of March, GDSS is honoured to welcome Toé. Co-Founder of Ouroboros and EWO French collectives, Toe explores music with no genre distinction combining hypnotic grooves, feeling music as an energy to experience. She focuses on an infinite search for psychedelic and tribal atmospheres creating sonic tales to enhance imagination.
Regarding her mix, here is her words: « My inspiration for this set is water, as mater but also as energy. Elemental force, the fluid of infinite shapes and forms, flowing source of adaptability, emotion and life. It’s an invitation for a dive into this sonic liquid and to be carried by the waves, exploring different universes encompassing instrumental, transambiantal and tribal sounds. »

Vrika is a Madrid-based dj and producer, part of Calma and Espacio Perpendicular, prolly one of the best music spots in the city.

This trip is a live recording from Espacio Perpendicular, opening an Onyro gathering with Pessimist. 

The journey starts with ambient and drone textures to warm up the engines of the spaceship that takes off in the middle of the set and drifts into complex halftimes and low frequencies always sticking to the oneiric atmospheres.

Vrika's technique is admirable and enviable, seeing him live is an incredible experience, and this journey is an example of his ability to massage your brain hehe
