MACY announces upcoming EP: Love Will Tear Us Apart

Italian producer MACY recently announced the release of an upcoming EP: Love Will Tear Us Apart.

The EP is going to features 3 tracks, including Lies, Love Without You, and Another Day. All of these are original mixes, and the production is nothing short of outstanding. The song “Lies” kicks off with a very atmospheric production, with shades of psychedelic textures and some trance influences. However, the tuned percussion (the Marimba type sounds in the track) add a bit of an Afro-Beat twist to the progression, making the song really stand out as it goes along. The vocal parts are also deep and lush, adding so much dreaminess to the feel of this release.

“Love Without You” takes the EP to a different direction, going for a more traditional sound, which has a deeper tone and a bit of a darker edge to it. The bass synths are impressive, with a huge, bouncy sound that fits well with the EFX swells and the textures that drive this flowing rhythm. The snare is snappy and not too bassy, cutting through the mix and allowing the kick and bass synth parts to really dominate the low end. This is a clever arrangement trick, which makes the song stand out. The vocal parts chime in after a while, and they come as a surprise, changing the mood of the arrangement and adding a really beautiful, dream-like texture to this composition. Last, but definitely not least, “Another Day” is another excellent track, which has a more percussive feel, with a rhythm-focused composition. I really enjoy the metallic tambourine-type sound that drives the rhythm, as well as the clap and the steady kick drum. The chord progression adds a beautiful climatic build up, and it fits the sparse background textures, making for a soaring dynamic evolution of this track.

Ultimately, these 3 songs denote MACY’s ability to explore different stylistic influences, and still come up with some galvanizing melodies and huge build-ups for his tracks. From otherworldly soundscapes, down to melodic and bright vocals, anything goes here! This EP will surprise you for its variety, and for its immersive sound design perks.

Melómana opens the year with a compilation that brings together producers who have marked and defined the musical orientation of the label. Its reference 039 is not only a testimony of long-term work, it is also the announcement of what is to come this year 2024.

The compilation brings together songs by artists such as Panka Panka, Azaria, Yahaira, JGR, Jackwasfaster, Ludviq, Nick Hanzo, Macaulay, Mijo, Pastor in Vegas, Rubinskee, Ademarr, Joseeph. Established talents on the scene, as well as emerging projects, offering an approach as designed for the track as it is for home listening. Altogether, we find fused rhythms and rich soundscapes that lead us to an exploration as fluid as it is captivating. The album offers us a dynamic contrast that shows the versatility of a timeless project, created from talent, meticulousness and sonic coherence.The level of production of these guys is intense but, on the other hand, the care of the sounds they release is at the level of those who do things because they want and with the time they really need. The tracks have strength and jump over the prevailing conventions, knowing how to avoid the most recurrent rawness and darkness, seeking dance but without predictable tricks and without exceeding an understandable level of experimentation suitable for the dance floor.

We could say that each producer summarizes their intentions in this compilation, seeking novelty without losing nostalgia, that they play with the genre but without falling into predictable tricks, nor into the arrogance of those who get wrapped up in a genre or mannerism to demonstrate that They have personality. And this is just the beginning, because this year Melómana is going to bring us many surprises.
