This is actually a track I made about a year ago but wanted to wait to release it with an EP called "In The Beginning". Sadly, I ended up never finishing that EP but I want to at least share this one only because it was the soul reason I wanted to make the EP in the first place. (Might upload more songs from it who knows) 

The main point of this track was to convey the feeling of getting into the flow of the 90's. It was to give off the feeling most people had when they really got into old games like Sonic the Hedgehog, or Streets of Rage. Hence the name, "Flow State" for it's repetitive smooth flowing nature mixed with the nostalgia of the SEGA Genesis sound font YM2612.

Zackery Wilson’s DSQUE — the third installment in the ESQUE series — is the intersection of Nintendo DS soundfonts (collections of samples from original Nintendo DS video games) and present-day audio production (e.g. EQ, delay, reverb, filters, etc.). DSQUE features “modernized retro” (i.e. simultaneously nostalgic and progressive) composition and sound design, while maintaining the formula laid out in the original SNESQUE albums.

The ESQUE concept: “Each [track] was created using only one soundfont (exclusive to each respective game), again, only taking liberties with audio production and some creative sample manipulation (i.e. pitch-shifting, time-stretching, etc.); the structure of each track limited to roughly a minute’s worth of music, looping once (in the tradition of standard video game ‘level’ music) before fading out.”

Note: DSQUE is wholly original (read: not a remix album). The parenthetical in each respective track’s title simply denotes the instrumentation (i.e. soundfont used) for that particular track.
